Glad we retirees can use the location now since 2019 ? now. Go ARMY (RET)

I have been at the EDELWEISS a number of times ( 5 ) for the European-Escapes tours ( Mostly the December " 4 times" Christmas Market tours) and sadly the last one in December 2015, I was happy to hear this past 2019 that we military retires can use it again ! I also have traveled with Bavaria & Beyond tours. Looking forward to maybe ? getting back to the EDELWEISS this December ? 2020 ? Once the tour listing for the December 2020 Christmas Market tour comes out, I was told later summer / fall ? The EDELWEISS beautiful location, cafes, pool, hot tub, shops, people working there and tours and package prices / value are excellent ! Go ARMY
you can now - they just finally changed it - the blowhard LtCol or whomever responsible in charge must've retired so no more slap in the face "status of forces" excuse.
YES ! I am glad that we military retirees can use the location At Last ! since 2019 ? I did hear they lost a lot of funds $ with not having the Retirees tours, I have used Bavaria & Beyond tours ( Jakes & Pete's Travel company, 2019, 18 & 19 ) , are excellent ! when the Edelweiss stopped US ! from using ! GoArmy
For mil retirees this tour has great value, especially if you have served in Korea. We had great food everywhere we went. The DMZ tour was great, with the big surprise to me the DMZ gift shop (buy all the "Korean MREs you can, actually great noodles and sauce). The only disappointment was the shopping us old hands were used to, no counterfit shoes, jackets etc., they have gone legit. If you remember families riding their roto-tillers to town, they are all gone replaced with real tractors. They country has come a long way and I am proud of them for this. Not on the tour was the Korean war museum, walking distance from the lodge. It was great experience, they still love our soldiers and the sacrifices they have made. All in all a great tour with wonderful guides and the best bus driver I have ever ridxen with (sorry Rudy, Bosnia hands might know Rudy).
The wife and I stayed there last October. I'm a E-6 National Guard retired. Seven days and nights for $467.00. Great place and great bargain. Fly into Honolulu Airport and drive there in 25 minutes.
I got to visit and stay at Edelweiss in 2010, it is incredibly beautiful, even more so in person which is hard to believe. I highly recommend going if you get the chance. One of the best experiences of my life.
Good plug for the Edelweiss, but it misses the mark in two ways. One, we are supposed to be giving these warriors coming out of combat zones a break from the senses of war. Now they see a Soldier in uniform and a combat mission statement to "patrol" and "make them mine". This in no way conveys the message come here and relax! Second, from a "protection" standpoint we are advertising to the world that our Soldiers and their families are routinely in a specific place making them targets.
Thanks again for having "The Coverdogs" at your resort on New Years Eve. It was an honor to perform for the fine Men and Women serving in Garmish, Germany. Happy New Year! Park City Productions
