We do prefer the less lit campgrounds. However, we still enjoy Desoto. Try Tranquility camp ground it’s not far from Desoto state park and it is super dark at night and very quite

We use to camp there two weekends per month during the winter, but in the renovation they put up sodium vapor lights that stay on all night, like a Walmart parking lot. Couldn't sleep, so we found some other campgrounds where we could watch the stars.
Me and the wife stayed in site A27 in 2019 and I find it one of the worst sites there. It was so dangerous in that site. Almost fell of down the hill. We will not stay in that site ever again. BUT i will say it's also one of the most beautiful park we have been in. We are going there for Christmad 2023
I agree the steep path in the back to the fire pit is awful. We always take the path towards the front of the site to get down there. I also put rope lights down that path in case we are down there at night. We don’t particularly like the front of the site, yet the view from our slide and the privacy by the fire pit is nice. Our personally favorite in #28. Hard to book, but we’ve been fortunate to get it several times.
Thank you! We are staying in A18 this summer bc it was the only spot available and we could never get a good look at it in other videos, but now we did. We sure appreciate walk/drive throughs! That’s why we do them also, to help others find a good spot! Keep it up!

Thank you so much Tim! Just as I said in the video , we’ve tried to be very positive, it’s been in the last month or two that it’s become increasingly trying. But never give up believe it will all work work........oh I owe you a VERY belated birthday wish. Been a bit distract this last month. 😀
