My, my, my JP. You're a man of many talents! You're also quite the writer! And a dear friend we will never forget. A good soul. Sure miss you. Dave and I love to sit back and listen to your music and keep up with you. Remember when you made that banjo and sat here at the house playing it for us? Ah, those were the days my friend. Know we still love you. I've got a long playlist of your songs! Dave and Gail
Dangerously Hot band backing Janis Martin... Lord Jeezus what a tight band aolng with many thanks to Rose Flores for her hand in this incredible album!!
Janis Martin performed just as well in her later years after years of a long layoff. she will be remembered not only as a pioneer of rock n roll or rockabilly but a great performer in country music as well.
Be sure to hit the show more above to read whole story. Those of us who like real country should feel lucky we have guys like JP Harris carrying on the music.
We've seen Janis perform many times in the UK since we first, thankfully, discovered her at Weymouth in 1986 (its on RU-vid, a great set). ALWAYS a great show, always had a great voice and was a true professional who had loads of time to chat to her fans, a lovely lady - so very unlike one of her more "famous" contempories in all these respects. JANIS WAS THE TRUE QUEEN OF ROCKABILLY fullstop !!, with a big nod to Barbara Pittman in second place. RIP ladies.
Hey JP & You Boys in the Tough Choices - great, cool video and a real deal song. Wishin' you All The Best on The Road. From Little Danny C - yer label mate and an "old guy playin' country" up here in the Green Mtn State with 15 yrs of Starline under my belt.
