Ok now let me tell you something. I’ve been scrolling through comments for the last 6 weeks before my teeth extractions. All that overreacting for nothing. I bet this message doesn’t even help people because no matter how many I read I was still nervous to go into the dentist yesterday. Listen I walked in then she put 4 injections in my mouth. Idk why but it didn’t hurt . The one at the roof of my mouth hurts the most but that pain was like a 5/10. Then she gave it a few minutes. She loosened my tooth for about 20 seconds and then grabbed the forceps and used a circle motion for 5 seconds and it’s out. Same for the bottom one. I barely even felt pressure. A few hours after the extractions when the anaesthesia wore off and my jaw felt bruised but then I had painkillers and I was fine. No pain whatsoever. The worse bit for me is eating. Like honestly it’s so hard to eat on one side of my mouth and it’s annoying eating so slowly.

Hey Dr kayla! I am 15 year old teenager! I have class 2( overbite) problem due to that my lips looks weird when I smile 😩 I feel so insecure about it... especially my side profile!... I want to ask that can getting braces can fix my weak jaw... I have seen in some videos that people remove some of their teeth and get braces done...?? And that make their jaw sharper? Is this really truee???
I have braces for more than a year now, days before I ate a PASSION FRUIT, I didn't felt any discomfort then, but when I drank water or when I rinse my mouth my one teeth hurts! SO DAMN BADD😭😭😭 what should I d?
3:13 Ortodontist said to me that he will expand my arch will then the side of face which is expanded be bigger beacuse for now is smaller. And I also have gap in front teeth and that will also be fixed.
Well for people who are going to have braces , here are few things you shall know : 1. Yes extractions will hurt if you are not given anesthesia properly, so if when dentist is about to pull yo teeth , do not be afraid of asking for anaesthesia if you can still feel pain due to tools since it shouldn't hurt at all. So you won't feel hurt if proper anaesthesia is administered.the needle will hurt though. And after the anaesthesia wears of the extraction site will hurt like hell.....but pain medications help. The site will be healed within 4-7 days. But you still will have to be careful as it takes a month for the bone and tissue to form at the extraction site. Eat only soft foods. Also be careful about the blood clot because of the clot comes out you may have dry socket and if by any chance this happens, go to doctor immediately. 2. Braces will also hurt like crazy for the first week. Your teeth will literally hurt to bite on the softest food like pasta. After that your teeth will be settling and you won't feel as much pain. but ofcourse the wires will poke every now and then in your mouth. Also please be careful while wiping yoir face as you may press too hard on yoir lips , which can even tear them through braces wire and brackets....yes it's that dangerous. So be very careful. 3. Please please and please keep them clean at all times.brush twice. Morning and night. Especially around the braces brackets, use interdental brush and also floss atleast once every 3 days. Also please make sure to rince and remove food from teeth after every meal ( do not brush thay much otherwise your enamel will be gone and teeth will be black and sensitive) . 4. Keep dental wax handy to put it on poking wires and brackets , it helps . Important things before you get braces or teeth extraction: 1. Take multiple opinions. 2. Please go to TMJ specialist plus Mayo facial specialist and orthodontist with Msc degree. The TMJ specialist will first check your tempromandibular joint to see where the actual problem is.......mayofacial specialist will let you know how your face will change. And ofcourse orthodontist can give yoi the braces treatment. Make sure you get a treatment after visiting these three in order. Because you may face facial symmetry problems later or TMJ issues after braces if you directly go to just the orthodontist. They are not specialized in all round treatment. They can just align your teeth and focus on smile and not other areas. 3. If your face is already slim with small mouth please do not get extractions at any costs. Go for IPR or expanders to create space. ONE LAST AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE : JUST KNOW YOU WILL HAVE TO WEAR RETAINERS EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. If you want your results to stay. Because if you do not wear them , teeth will start moving back. So consider all this. If you have difficulty with only a few teeth like 3-4 teeth , you should go for smile designing and not braces.
Same here. Even the thought of going to the dentists scares me. I can't even sleep just for the thought of it. It's because of the painful experiences, and I don't want to feel pain again
