Hey… thanks for the vid ! Is it right that if I want to auto invest monthly on T212 then there is a charge to do so. So I have to add cash and then manually invest. Is that what you’ve noticed also? Thanks
There are no fees for auto invest. The only way there would be a fee is if you paid via apple pay. Auto invest works via the pies. I haven't noticed any fees, although I manually invest my money.

Please Note: I mentioned that the Invesco World Fund had a fee of 0.15% and calculated that to be £1.50 for the whole year, this was a miscalculation, it is actually £15, still a lot cheaper than the other options, but maybe not as much as it first seemed. I apologise for that. Also, I do think that there is a place for these funds, I am not saying that everyone should do it themselves in a stocks and shares ISA.

I have two S&S ISA's. One is a managed fund, adventurous, the other is a global index fund. The managed fund is winning this year. There wasn't much in it last year either. They get a bad rep on RU-vid but they definitely have their place.
Definitely have their place yes, I can't disagree with that! Personal finance means it's personal to every individual, I'm glad that it's working out for you!
As much as I say that Trading 212 is a great platform, it's up to you to decide. Vanguard isn't bad if you want just Vanguard funds. The fees aren't actually that high, and you have a lot of peace of mind.
Thank you for doing this video, I found it very informative as a subscriber who doesn't know the first thing about Stocks and Shares ISA'S. At 62 years of age and just receiving my 25% pension lump sum, I went safe and put £20k in a cash ISA at 4.5%.
@@Dr.JubairsFinance Yes pensions as a tax saving vehicle are great. I work for Scotrail ontrain and the Railway Pensions Scheme offer a savings scheme called BRASS, its separate from the main pension. Higher salaried employees like train drivers use BRASS to get their HMRC tax liabilities down. Some train drivers/Conductors are saving over £500 per 4 weeks in the savings scheme. Within BRASS there.is an opportunity to choose how 'risk averse' you are. An employee can choose to invest in a risky Global Equity Fund or play it safe in a deposit fund. Folks are advised to take RPS pension at age 62, rejoin if staying in service, to get tax liability down. Thanks for reading my note finally I won £50 on the September Premium Bonds draw. Over a complete year I won £550 on an average £11500 pot. I'm pleased to say the least.
Ready made funds are okay if you don't have time for research and want to start investing journey and build confidence/trust in the market and willing to pay subscription fee, platform fee, account management fee and fund fee, but taking a more active approach could save you money to put back into investment.
Great video. My impression is that the financial world has more than its fair share of 'experts' making a living from others' ignorance. So I can't help but admire the genius and simplicity of index fund investing. And also the part RU-vid videos, like yours, play in bringing this to the public's attention. [Halifax (and iWeb) are part of the Lloyds Banking group, hence the similarities.]
Thanks Lou! The platforms I've shown aren't even as bad as it gets, more than 1% fees are pretty common. I can see why people go for them, it takes the worry out of investing. However, the stock market barely gives 8% annually over the long term, for a company to take over 1%, is really going to hurt your potential growth. Also makes sense about the Halifax thing, I know a lot of people will not know this.
If you invest in DIST and want to withdraw money later on, how do you do that? Its just online app, not a bank , so how to get money out if for some reason, you want to withdraw or move money or switch to different provider?
You can withdraw free funds from your account to the bank you used to deposit the funds in the first place, you can also transfer funds or shares to other providers too
Bull, bear. It's all relevant to when you stop investing. The sooner you get started the better. Bull and bear and relative terms, you never know really which period you are in, unless you can see the end.

Do a video of packaged 'oven ready' Stocks and Shares ISA's Barclays, Virgin Money, Royal Bank of Scotland and others offer please. Is it worth investing £20k in them and which is the best performing ISA. Are the management fees worth it? No other financial expert have made one on RU-vid. Incidentally I'm still doing well in Premium Bonds and good luck in the September draw.
That was a good video. I was thinking to changing to just etfs.i buy a share a vusa every week dont even look what its doing.i have 7 stocks I’m up 50% on Costco. it looks overvalued now I’m thinking do i sell do at least take some profits its a headache 😅

the maximum is 50K I have 2 accounts at maximum for 3 years and the vast majority of time never win anything! return is just awful if you have the cash put it in an ISA
