I (mostly) agree with your opinion on table placements! Lol I think it's not a huge factor at conventions where attendees are kind of trained to search out every corner of the venue. I notice this isn't the case with markets targeted toward general audiences though. They're more casual, impulsive shoppers who are more likely to miss certain vendors simply cuz it wasn't in their line of sight. At least, this is true in my experience. Loved the vlog! Makes me feel like I went even though I missed out on it hehe
Yaaa!! I suppose it totally depends on the venue too and for this con it was such a marginal factor. I recently watched your latest vlog too and it’s always amazing seeing how stacked your weeks are, how much you’re vlogging, AND always making bank!!!
Ok, so I was also a vendor here & I completely agree with everything that you all have said. IT WAS SO SLOW & it was MY FIRST TIME VENDING XD I thought it was because my art was doo doo or something. Also, I THOUGHT I saw you there during load in time since I watch your stuff but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to sound like a stalker or anything but I was going around artist alley buying from other booths cause I was bored but I NEVER SAW YOURS. I'm so sad !!
I totally agree with the flying out! I sadly didn’t really make much with that added cost but I think it would be great for locals! Hopefully they do one in Washington next year!! And I also agree with the steep artist alley table price. I’m going to San Japan and that table was only $288. It was also great meeting you!
I appreciate the support on the review video since this is a new style of video compared to the usually convention vlogs I do! I’ll be experimenting with different styles since i still feel new to all this, you’re the best! 🫡🫶
Was great meeting you, also laughing at my table in the back shot of one scene and my friend at my car behind you during load out. All very valid points, I only covered my expenses but decided it would be worth it next year too. I can only keep trying and growing until the con tables out price me here…hope to see you at another show soon!

Hey, great seeing you again! All of your points were spot on. Great analysis. I have to say, tho, despite some of the issues, this was my most successful event this year. San Jose in particular is very good to artists. Must say, the loadout was abysmal, however. They need to fix that next time. Lastly, thanks for showing my booth in your video. :)

I live in Arizona and I was shocked to see this event was in Phoenix! I thought this was only in California! I think maybe the local weebs just aren't aware the event is in Phoenix yet?
Random thought. Have you thought of have a small screen facing the attendees that is connected your ipad? Fellow Artists love seeing behind the scenes stuff and this way you can still work on your pieces while also grabbing attendee's attention which might equal to more interactions or sales. Just a thought!
That’s a really cool idea that I think would definitely grab more attendee’s attentions! I think it could lead to more interactions and interest in booths without a doubt 😮
why call it "stuff" when its products you sell and make money from. stuff is like saying your work is blah but gimme your money. Stop calling it stuff. Your art is a money maker for you. stuff is what you bring with you to put product on or display art on. Alot of artists are calling it stuff why? So much work and time to put into Stuff that makes you money, its Art or product(s) and its much appreciated to buy and own that you made with your hands and imagination.
This is a good reassuring note to value ourselves as artists! I think sometimes we can get caught up to very quick and easy everyday vernacular using "stuff" to describe things so definitely a flaw I can fix when commentating about my work and art and products!

I was on the outer row between vendors and AA and it was a ghost town even when AA behind me was filled! It was abysmal for me I am down 1k for hotel and flight I only made exactly table back
Phoenix CC charged $40 a day for game on expo, it was CRAZY. They also had issues with attendees trying to get in (also took 2 hours to get in!) so IMO, their security needs to get it together. Because same sentiment -- game on did a pretty good job with the con, but it was the convention center that had problems.
Ohh you play Tetris too 👀 I’m trying to get good at Tetris. I’ve been playing effects a lot but also noticed that competition wise a lot of people play grandmaster so I’m trying that too. Which is your favorite?
I was at this con! It was my first ever con, and I had some expectations because I’ve seen previous experiences to other cons. I was not a vendor or anything but I throughly enjoyed the Artist Alley it was something I’ve always wanted to see in person. I will say Saturday did suck, I showed up around 1:30 and didn’t get in u til 2:15. I contemplated not showing up Sunday but Sunday was so much better. I think there definitely could have been more attendees and the would have definitely increased sales for artists. Regardless I loved all the artists they were all so unique and very talented. Great Job!!! hopefully I can see your booth at Ana other con!
This is amazing!!! It was definitely a decent experience for a first con, they did have a lot to offer as a convention in itself so I’m sure you got to have a blast despite the heat :o

I loved the fact that you guys discussed together during day 1. Something so beautiful for you artists within the field discussing what’s going on with the current situation in your cons, what’s working and what’s not, it’s a nice sense of community and I can’t wait to feel that again amongst other artist friends. It’s something I strive for again

The joke about setting up in the parking garage, don't joke! A con here in Oregon a couple weeks ago put the artist alley in the parking area. It was filthy, dark and there were rats. They did the artists dirty.
Went to Phoenix last month and it was too hot to do anything outside for too long (and I live in Vegas lol) Love your video editing though! Always fun to watch haha
i've never done a con before because of the housing costs, so getting an Airbnb with other artists seems like such a good idea! kudos to whoever planned all the logistics. it was probably a hassle collecting all the money ;)

As a vendor, I completly agree this was a local con for me so I would do it againand yeah Sunday was a lot better for me as well! Loved meeting you and buying your stuff! I am planning on buying the prints and decorating my office with them lol!
Local cons are the best to test different things as vendors because of the low cost of lodging and travel for sure! I’m honored to have stuff in your office :0 🥹
One of the artists talked about the 'area code cons' at 11:25, and they're probably talking about 4H's cons. They run Riverwalk Anime, and this year they're branching out into a bunch of smaller cons in the midwest! I agree that there's a lot more interest in getting smaller local cons up and running in many parts of the country, but unfortunately that one's an example of an established company branching out instead.
It’s definitely a possibility for new artists to quickly distinguish which smaller cons are super brand new from unknown organizers vs a well established conglomerate, I see the sentiment there for sure. I’m glad to hear your insight on what Cen was talking about though, it opens up the discussion on the pros and cons doing smaller cons!
Lodging with other artists can be a little scary... since it's our first year of doing conventions and tabling in artist alleys, what better to do than try everything that's possible! Zookies, please let me know if you liked this style of vlog!!! I took a while to whip this one up, but I'm putting a ton of effort into the videos.. and perhaps not enough into my art ;-;
this style of vlog, particularly when you and other vendors are speaking about the overall event, is very transparent! I overall liked how it was very casual yet professional to hear different perspectives about vending at these types of conventions c:
