Man stands to far back from the camera so you cannot even see his meters or anything else...even the coil connection is not seen...had to stop watching...cant see enough of important things being done
Owned a '51 TD, RED paint & replaced top & side curtens in white pin point vinal Did my own my own mantienes, tool kit had its own greese gun,& witworth tools. Later traded it for '66 MGB. LOVED THEM BOTH.
TF is positive earth so Dwell meter red clamp goes to battery positive terminal and black clamp to either end of wire from coil to distributor. And that’s it.
@T Register of the MG Car Club thanks for responding. I have an analog meter but it doesn't have a dwell port. I used it 20 years ago to measure dwell. It has the angles on it, but after watching your video, I think you're measuring DC voltage switching on and off. I haven't tried yet, but I think I need to use the DC port.
Great video. Came across it by chance and it peeked my interest, as I haven’t used a dwell meter for a few years 😊 now. Very nicely and clearly explained with loads of information, especially if you have a TF or even if you haven’t.
Good video Keith, it's not often we get to see a driver's eye view (well, actually on the roll-bar). I wonder what type of steering box you have: the various forums have been discussing this ad nauseum for years, with no firm conclusions. I am an advocate of a well-sorted Bishop's Cam box plus a Panhard rod.
Hi Roger. Its a good old well sorted BC box, with Panhard Rod and Torque rods on the axle. the only issue is trying to get it round hairpins with the fat tyres, very heavy steering. Keith
Congratulations on your ascent. Beautiful car. ! My first car, purchased in 1964, was a red MG TD MK II. Engine and gear box were newly refurbished but not installed. That was my entry into the world of British cars. I currently have a red 1963 MGB and looking at buying a 1954 MG TF that has been properly stored for 15 years. Just the right car for a hill climb. Cheers from Oregon USA.
That's it ?!?!?! Jesus, I thought I was going to see something. BTW, it's nice not to see a couple of old farts driving a TC. I get really tired of watching geriatrics driving these kute'n'kool cars .
Load of fuss about nothing ? If you are "servicing" a TC/ XPAG at such an early stage then it wasn't serviced correctly in the first place should run for thousands of miles without fuss I know.
Sadly China told all EU politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic, agriculture or industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China....:-( China also banned all kind of synthetic fuels or hydrogen combustion. Because these are not energy efficient)
