My name is Matt. In 2022 I quit my job to chase a dream and explore the world. I make videos about travel and I enjoy sharing my experiences on the road. In my videos, I hope to educate, entertain and inspire others. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for visiting us! I`ve been to a lot of countries in Europe and South America, but none of them have better food than Belém, and I am happy that more people are coming here to get know our culture which is very different from the rest of Brazil! Belém will be helding COP30, and you should come back, the city will have a lot of new stuffs.
In Belem/Brazil, anyone who comes to see the city in terms of gastronomy should try our fish: yellow hake, pirarucu, fry which are the best in the country, we also have exotic fruit ice creams such as bacuri, cupuaçu and uxi etc. In addition to the dishes served with tucupi and tacacá. We have different rhythms.I visited US.
Thanks for visiting us. Belém is rich in culture, exotic food and beauty, but also there's much poverty, the government fails to take care of this beautiful city, taking away it's full potential to be one of the better looking cities in Brazil. We're always happy to welcome people from around the world who are interested in meeting other cultures and scenarios, specially exotic places like Belém. Despite the things that can make the experience a little bit worse, i hope you had a great time here.
It's better to be lucky than good, but to be fair it was only for 2 or 3 blocks or so. It was also pretty quiet out and I'm always keeping an eye out in even the best of neighborhoods.
Are you from San Diego? I grew up in Belém, but today I live in San Diego (despite being in Brazil now dealing with family situations). I love Belém! But the heat and disorganization of the city sometimes weigh down the experience of living here. However, the people, food and culture are extremely rich! I miss Belém's nightlife style living in the USA 😂😂
No, I'm from Southern California but lived in S.D. for many years. One of my favorite cities in the world. With that said, I really enjoyed Belém and you're right about the nightlife 100%. Sorry to hear about your family situation, wishing you the best.
Hi! How did you manage to get a ticket? I'm going there in November and would like to avoid buying it through an agency. I was recently in Colombia and bought it from scalpers outside of the stadium which is always a risk and I don't want to take any risks of not getting in for Boca. Tnx!
Hi!!! Makes sense, I felt the same way. It was such an amazing experience!!! There’s a lot of security around the stadium, and although I have scalped tickets for games before, this time I went through Viagogo and everything was fine. Buy at your own risk, but the other people I met got thier tickets on the site as well. Good luck and enjoy!!
Belém is the city i was born, a beautiful place that should be more and best managed … I love this place and i hope you had been created good memories there.
“This is going on RU-vid”! Boy was I right! Matt, thanks for video and bringing back some cherished memories man. Was too much fun, we should do something again this year.
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure about shopping malls, I didn’t see any in the areas I was at. They had a lot of cool restaurants, markets and local craft stores.
@@thestumblingnomad Thanks! I also recently saw some videos on the recent bad flooding in the city. Have you heard much about that? Does it happen often? Thanks
I understand that fear, I had it too before I started traveling. In my opinion, people are extremely kind and friendly everywhere I have been. People are genuinely interested, just like I am in their culture. If you're respectful and open to new experiences and new conversations, the relationships and friends you'll make with people all over the world is a beautiful thing. We all just want to laugh, be happy, see our families do well and have a little a fun. Brazil is an amazing country and Belem was a super cool city, very chill. Happy Travels!
@@Lionheart_He-Man you might be treated more like a "gringo" in Rio or São Paulo, but Belém folk is very receptive, all the brazilian northern people are recognized as the most receptive in the country. Be welcome.
@@Lionheart_He-Man come in June/July or October, best months to be in Belém, it's summer in Amazon and there are great cultural festivities. Here, you're gonna enjoy the Brazil's best culinary. And bring light clothes.
We are here in Asuncion since 2022. It is good place to be. Recommendation ! We visited 28 countries, but Paraguayans are the most friendly people we ever met.

I hope you had a great time in Uruguay, even being the expensive place that it is... I live in California, and I miss that place a lot. Hopefully I'll be visiting, in the near future!
Super! Congatulation to your friend. First passenger trip. Great. How was the landing? It's shaky a bit,r rght? Till the pilot stabilise the machine. I like that 👍
Thank you! The conditions were windy, but my friend was extremely confident and handled the landing really well. It was an amazing experience, one I'm grateful to have experienced!
It's an ugly vandalized city. Sure, it's good for a thrill, adrenaline traveling but other than that it feels like a ghetto. Like the native population suddenly vanished due to bubonic plague and the next day got replaced by a totally diffrrent and confused population. I won't recommend, there's water, buildings and history all over europe. Nothing special
Fair enough, I had a great experience as a solo traveler, but I had also just come from larger cities like Nice, Marseille and Aix, so i was ready for something a bit smaller with some French Riviera charm.
Asuncion is nothing but a rat hole. My girlfriend just had her apartment broken in to and the police are worthless. I wouldn't go to that country if someone paid me. She has two children and the oldest boy was in the apartment and they tied him up and took everything including their clothes. Anyone going to Asuncion has to be nuts.
