Welcome to the home of the RAMBLER Art Book! My name is Cynthia St Anne and I love making handcrafted books and junk journals. I also enjoy finding vintage ephemera and other treasures at local thrift stores and garage sales and sharing it via my Etsy shop: Recollect and Ramble (www.etsy.com/shop/recollectandramble).
Oh, Cynthia! This is utterly stunning! Now my second favorite journal you've done! I love the colors and every bit of ephemera you made/chose/included. Just gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this as it will inspire me.
I just love your style!! Watching all your videos of journals you've made, the colors are all so vibrant and joyful. May i ask what kind of paper you are using here?
So glad you like it! To be honest, I'll have to go back and check my paper trash to tell you the type of paper. Stay tuned - I'll get that posted here ASAP! Thanks for commenting ~ ☺️
I loved what you did with this treasured book. I still have the larger version of this book, which was my older daughter's favorite. I clearly remember her sitting and "reading" this book to herself. It was one of those adorable memories - thanks for reminding me and for showing this lovely journal!
Thank you, Joyce! This one was so fun to make - I really like making Holiday junk journals but don't think about it until November (when I finally get in a holiday mood). Maybe I should try making one in July and see how it goes! Thanks so much for your comment :)
Good luck on your projects - we are also trying to "catch up" on overdue projects on the farm that need to be accomplished. Hard to do, but will-be-happy-to have-done stuff! I hope these sale items find lovely homes! :)
This might be my second favorite journal you've done - of course the first is the one I have! This is a fun and very special celebration of the original Frosty tale. And I also love the Etsy shop daily updates - I'm glad you are doing what is important to your goals.
Hello, my dear! I somehow missed this comment - glad I dug a little deeper into my comments! Yes, this sweet junk journal was really fun to make. I somehow had just the right snowman ephemera and it came together well. Thanks for your encouragement re: my Etsy updates. I think it has actually helped with views and sales. Hope you're doing well!
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment! It's been fun digging through the plethora of items I have in my inventory and getting them out to be seen and appreciated - I hope they all find new homes!
I'm not "weary" of watching - it's interesting to see both the older journals compared to the newer ones you are making. It helps me think about how styles and personal preferences alter how we create over time. I'm still struggling with making entire journals at the moment. I'm much more enamored with making cards, boxes, and tags! You certainly scored some great items here! hugs, bg
ps so I don't see the radio on Ebay so I assume you sold it already?? What a nice piece! Also I would love more info about the Meetup Journal Group - I'd like to form one here since you live too far away for me to join yours!
Thank you, Barbara! I thought maybe it was just me who found it interesting what my early junk journals looked like! Food for thought re: how fancy to make them... Anyway, I'm so glad you're enjoying the "golden oldies", too ~ 🤗
Yes, the radio sold pretty quickly! I hope the new owner is happy with it. I should do a video re: the Junk Journal group. Maybe the girls will let me video next time we meet?!
What a beautiful medley! Love all the journaling spots intermixed with great collage pieces. So many lovely features tucked into this journal. Great job! :)
This journal is the perfect combination of beautiful and useable - I strive to hit that balance when creating journals and it is not easy to do! Love the lace and rickrack! Glad you shared these treasures from the archive.
Hi Barbara! It's been an interesting exercise uploading these older videos. I didn't realize how much my process/technique had altered. There are some things I'd forgotten about and will try to re-incorporate as I move forward. All the best to you and yours! ❤️
This lovely journal so represents the things I love about what you create! The colors and little messages are enchanting - the cover is perfect! Make more! :)
Thanks! There are so many fun treasures out there - I find great items every time 😊 And, for my own good, I have removed the Temu app from my phone - had to make it more difficult to shop... 🤪 Hope your Spring is off to a great start!
Howdy, Cynthia! Thank you for sharing your Stash Buster junk journal. I do love the variety of images used in this journal... and the snippets along the page edges look so great. Blessings & Bubbles🫧💙
You do such a lovely job on these journals - perfect accents to ME's wonderful artwork! I especially love the quilt on the spine. Truly a keepsake to cherish!
Hey Cynthia - I always enjoy your Haul Videos - it gives me vicarious pleasure without having to figure out what to do with the stuff after I bring it home! lol Seriously, as you know I seem to harbor a lot of things I love. Spring - yes, but today was inches of rain! Take care, b
Well, no matter how many times I tell myself "No more thrifting!", I cannot just leave cool stuff when I find it. Maybe just not go into the thrift store in the first place? Ha ha! 🤪 I just enjoy the hunt too much! All the best to you and yours ~ C
