Welcome to Solid Sounds Music & TV with Harri & Marcus. We aim to upload once a week or more with videos ranging from classic TV shows and adverts to music related videos where we hope to run down vintage charts and add our memories and throw in some facts, talk about things like long lost music venues or artists that had a brilliant run of releases, albums that were maybe perfect apart from one track (in our opinion) and lots more.
We want to hear from you in the comments and please follow us on Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok and all our socials to interact give your opinions and let us know what videos you want us to make!
We also have a clothing line at www.solidsoundsclothing.com with a huge selection of fun t-shirts etc where we will be uploading merch for Solid Sounds very soon

11 year old me in 1982 would have killed for this kind of content. It would have been Impossible though. I got lucky to have found this LP in my dad’s record collection by accident.

All in all, hell yeah, music was better in the 60s, well before the soul and verve were processed out of it. How many bands are as eclectic as The Move nowadays?

This program coincidentally and uniquely records the very first ever recording or performance of I LOVE ROCK N ROLL in the world, ever. Alan Merrill's song went around the world and is one of the most recognised songs ever via versions by Joan Jett, Britney and others, It finally reached Xmas #1 in the UK via a parody "I Love Sausage Rolls", a charity single in 2019. Arrows made no money out of the song until Britney Spears cover version in 2002 because of the sharp practices of the 1970s/80s detailed here. Mickie Most used people and then threw them away Nevertheless, this footage of Arrows is a treasure of epic proportions

The way I interpret this is the boy really wants some Fruit Gums and is trying to persuade his mother to buy some at the store for him, albeit in an overbearing manner.

Not really, because each era, pre-sixties, or after, there is always something good going on. Most people who bang on about how everything was better in the 60's forget the reason it really was better and that was we were all younger and carefree because of that.

And the fist person you see is Jimmy Saville - predatory sex offender of the highest order. At least edit him out

Good morning, afternoon or evening, the TV SPECIAL SPIRITS TOUR video, did you extract it from a VHS or DVD? I was thinking of buying it, but I didn't know which one it is.

Seems to me i have seen Maurice playing this just as beautifully as here only his sweet, smooth velvety voice accompanies the melody and it was my favorite performance of this wonderful ballad.

The late 60's and early 70's did actually have much of the better music! (And by the time I finished writing that, Jimmy Saville made an appearance... 🤮) But if any of us can listen to or watch any tune from the sixties and not recognizing what followed in the next decade, how can we tell which was better? The sixties were GREAT, the seventies were eventually even better! But the seventies were such a mixture of the "purity" of what it came from, and the unforeseen thing that much of it would become... It's a good thing I was born in '67, so I can never write a true story about it all! 😆
