Join me in my journey toward a resilient lifestyle while still living within city limits. I am doing what I can to be more self sufficient with the long game in mind. Here I examine some of the eccentricities of western suburban culture and resource management and I explore alternatives to common practices. And yet " Acts of God" insurances usually won't cover acts of God and other things that are labeled as acts of God, The government will not take responsibility or accountability for. But they sure will not allow you to benefit from acts of God without paying a price! Yeah f*** this country dude
legally??? how ridiculous that one who is born on this planet who would have /should have every right to collect water. what gives the government t the right to deny life's essentials?
Thank you! Excellent presentation and you thought of everything! Could also end with short of the Mrs. running water over salad prep., family dog drinking from water bowl... 😋
Yeah but the tank is slightly downhill from my house. Also it is only the vertical height of the tank that builds water pressure. The width doesn’t add to the water pressure. It’s not intuitive but that’s how the math works out. Thanks for commenting!
Yes it should be able to handle that just fine. It may slightly mar the tile finish though since it technically scours into the surface just a tiny bit. If you could stick to just the grout though it would probably work fine. Thanks for commenting.
Free water for life! + least $20,000 worth of metal + all of the plumbing costs + labor + land + electric bill for the pump and filtration + water testing and treatment + permits and inspections + new filters + repairs + other misc stuff. Now, the peace of mind of not relying on city infrastructure is definitely worth a lot. I really enjoyed the video and definitely appreciate people taking on projects like these and being more self sufficient but the title of this video is absurd.
And this is why I'm leaving Texas. Even in certain areas In Ecuador I'm proud of how they established their water systems. We came, we saw, time to move on. I gotta say though this video is amazing.
water is cheap............. anyways want to impress people make ur own gas and electric. putting a umbrella up and collect water in a bin is not a skill....
1) Deserts have shrank in size over the past few decades. 2.) The earth has become %15 more green (more plant life) over the past few decades. 3.) Forty years ago the alarm was raised that we did not have enough carbon in the atmosphere so we were going into an ice age. Then it was global warming because of too much carbon in the atmosphere. Ten years after that it's called climate change because it has a sense of ambiguity to the sense of meaning. There is weather and there is climate.
Since I'm quite a bit lazier than this guy, this video got me thinking about an alternate use for outdoor swimming pools, reversed pumps, trampolines, solar panels and spray-in insulation - electricity and coarsely-filtered, slightly-heated water?
I helped compensate 👍 many states won't allow 100% free electricity either. If they find you 278 miles from any town and find out you don't pay electric or water, they will bill you for it anyway! Its messed up! *EDIT* 12:40 watching how busy the chickens are in the background of the time-lapse was cute 🐣
My belief is that a distributed network of both energy production and water capture is a more robust system and the way forward for our species. A good book you might enjoy is called “the grid” by Gretchen Bakke. And yeah the chickens seem to sense when they are on camera and they go wild 😂
I haven’t “thumbs up”’d a video on RU-vid in, idk, 10+ years. You 100% deserve it. Incredible stuff man, so informative, so easy to learn from and understand. You rock
I liked the project though seems expensive -- i was only shocked to hear that some states it's illegal to collect rain water-- capitalism is a monster!!
