If you are going to stack boxes like that you need a step next to it Galloway, you don't need to hurt yourself grabbing boxes at head leave. @@gallowaylights seems the mom cat wanted to have enclosed place for her kittens. you can put a cardboard box underneath that deck. they'll be sheltered better from the weather there.

You divided a brood nest with an empty drone comb frame. Which will retard the hive. We do that in the Spring as a swarm prevention method. The other hive is weak enough that at this time of year, they should be combined with another hive.

@gallowaylights that's cool, figured u worked on stuff by the things u have around in your videos etc....ive worked construction my whole life, now I'm trying to just do things from my land for $, that why I'm trying to get as many bees as I can..need to get my youtube going again, it's so time consuming tho lol.
@gallowaylights other day I put OA +GLYCERIN & WATER,in a spray bottle, (used Randy Oliver medium recipe), I gave the treatment & 30 min later I pulled the bottom tray & all the hive beetles ran down there, they hated the OA treatment.. do u ever see that with vapor??
@dcsblessedbees They really take the sugar down fast in the green hive. I added two frames of brood to the red one, hopefully that makes them get moving! 🫠

You will get your return of you build up get thru winter of you have s healthy hive and you keep them healthy you could split 3 or 4 times next year hell with buying bees you have to get thru your first winter that's etre the reward comes from mane sure your investment is in good bees that you like how they act if they drawn comb good not alot of latter or wonky comb and how they produce alot goes in to the investment make sure your happy with your stich @gallowaylights
