There are some artifacts while playing the keyboard, is that the tone? Starting from minute 15 and heard until minute 17 and beyond... It sounds like a vinyl sound, artifact... What is this?
Beautiful! Replacing my previous comment from 2 years ago. Since then i bought this synth, and bought your sounds. It was really fun to go through all of them, and it gave me fun ideas for my own sounds. Using this synth on tracks and cues has been a revelation because the sounds are so strong, you don’t need 15 layers in a track. Like a piano, it just sounds amazing even by itself. Which isn’t the case often with soft synths. Thanks for making great stuff! 🤘✌️
Got one used with store cred last week.Those lush pads are pretty sick,still going thru all the presets and writing down which ones are my fave,which mean alot of them.And I love reverb as much as the next but damn, previous owner set reverb/delay to 100 on like every preset.This is going to take a while to edit.Most excellent synth I own.📼🤖♥️🛸

I read some gossip about the sound… but there is something unique to it it seems. Like I hear an orchestra kind tibre. It reminds me of the Memorymoog… more organic than the One. But it tends to be agressive and brassy opposed to smooth and silky (like anything OB). I love it! They made a synth for everyone when it come to controles, but they choose characters above avarage in it’s sound department.
I honestly have to find out… but I guess you are right. That being said. An Ob6 is very silky… I. don’t expect that kind of smooth. But Still. I have a prophet 12… and I remember a lot of complaints about that one too, which is one of my favorite synths.
Hello, please forgive me if this isn't the forum to ask. Perhaps others are here in a similar dilemma. I am looking to upgrade my K-Monologue synth to a polyphonic. I am hoping to spend under a grand. However, I am also hoping to buy a the "last synth I will ever need'. I am pretty new to it, but I wish to master one true machine and learn Beyond what my Monologue can teach me. I am interested in the Minilogue XD, the Behringer Poly D (but I will admit, the no presets or saving patches is a problem), or the Deepmind 6 or 12, but if I have to splurge a lil more dough and go over $1k then I might reach for the Oberheim TEO-5. I need an arpeggiator, a sequencer, I want to make lush pads, like Wolfsheim, Alphaville, and the Cure, Future Islands, Nation of Language. Synth pop basically, (not acid house)... my playing skills are maybe to level of open mic night, or volunteering at the old folks home playing background music as they put puzzles together. Which sounds like a good option, for a starter synth that you can grow into and use happily well beyond starting?
Hi, we were all beginners at one time, so no problem, you're more than welcome to ask questions. The DeepMind 12 is a fantastic Synth, I hope you can hear it in the Patches i've made, though the biggest downside to the DM12 is that you have to really use 2 Voices for each note to get 2 Sawtooths, it's essentially a 1 oscillator Synth with a 2nd one which is only a Square Wave. What that all means is that for many sounds you'll only have 6 Voices...If you're happy with that, then great. A lot of the DM12 is with its FX Section which is a lot more extensive and deep that top tier Synths, they did a great job with that. If you're not bothered about the range of Keys then yes, the TEO 5 might be an option, albeit with 5 voices, however don't over look the Take 5, which is a similar form factor, a bit cheaper as well, but it sounds amazing. I've made 2 Banks for it and it blows me away with how it can sound. End of the day, you've got to judge it by the sound, Bells and Whistles are cool, but if the sound isn't there, then it won't grab you. www.geosynths.com/take5
Hey thanks for the expedient reply! Great info... at this point, that is to say, price point as well as this point in time, I am heavily leaning toward the Deepmind family. One question on that front, would it be safe to surmise that the same math would apply to the DM 6? (Meaning that 6 voices essentially becomes reduced to 3). I will probably play mostly presets until I learn the ins and outs of the machine. Hut having that "undo" feature is a sneaky lil button that I can see myself thankful for. Magnificent patches!!!....it's really beautiful and deep, thick, all this contradicts the people who say that the PB 6 has a too fine sound....are you thinking of making patches for the new Moog Muse?
Yes, the FM and Subtractive are a good pair. I don't own this synth. I love my original Gaia, same layout, except 3 layers deep. I have layered my Yamaha refaceDX 4 operator FM synth with the Gaia for a match made in heaven. I even have a stereo input with attenuator for the DX on the Gaia. The one advantage I have over the Sys8 is the enormous stereo fields I can build because Each layer of the Gaia can be panned. Between the panning and the 3 Gaia layers, I have amp and filter envelopes of different times intersecting across the field. And a FM synth in the middle now.
Bellissimo GEO was an exceptional wavetable bell! Especially with that extra modulation routing on the modwheel source = gorgeous attack on that one, sir.
Absolutely brilliant stuff, as always, Jamie! This is a definite buy for me. Just like Volume 1 was. Still loving those patches as well. You and Espen are single-handedly keeping the Prophet X alive. And by alive I mean making it even more awesome than anyone expected. Cheers for the hard work :)

Thanks, I suppose with the 12 coming out, the prices of the 6 voice has dropped, might be a good time to pick up a used one. 6 voices really isn't a problem I find.
Jamie - just great work and attention to detail. Still enjoying Vol 1 where every sound seems to contain three others once you add mod wheel, sliders, etc. If you have a PX - simply a must try/buy.
This board is very cool to me. I own an Ensoniq SQ-80 and I feel this is somewhat similar, in it's "ideology", so to speak. I've always wondered why this thing stays SO expensive (given that it never sold that well). GEOSynths, have you ever messed with an SQ-80 or made patches for it?!
I think it sold OK, it was just misunderstood really, though the XL was a bit of an odd choice, would have been better to have a Module instead. Its an incredible Synth to work on as each patch can have up to 8 Oscillators per voice with 2 Sample Osc, 2 VA Osc and then a 2nd Layer of the same...Mad possibilities, but it does take time to program....there aren't really many Poly Synths with a Stereo Analog Filter out there either. I've not had an SQ80 but I did use a VFX back in the Day and had a EPS16+

@@GEOSynths Not a regret, but now I'm stuck with it, I bought a Prophet XL knowing that I was going to love it and I can't not have it in the room, of course. Only problem is that it's the size of a lorry. The synth gets a bad rap, but I feel most of those complaints are people who choose not to explore their instruments...no pun intended.😓
@@tristancaver4836 Yes, the XL is a big things, surprised they did that size, though i suspect it was more down to 8DIO than Sequential as they've never done that size Synth before or since. It does get a bad rap and like you say it's those that don't or have never used one. It's a brilliant Synth, definitely in my top 5.
