This channel was a college class channel. Now, I teach 6th grade History and my students found me! I always planned on using it for something so I figured what better time to start? I have many hobbies and one of them is Wood working, so I figured maybe if my students are going to follow me for my old content, I should just get my crafting up and see what happens. I will use the channel to create, destroy, and repair things as well as the odd ball advice or Q&A with any followers. I will definitely keep things, "Good Enough!" This will be mostly wood working, but expect a hodge-podge of other randomness, because why not keep it interesting? #navyvet #veteranownedandoperated #cnc #maker
Creations can be for sale and I plan on being engaged with comments. If you have ideas, suggestions, requests, or just random (REAL) questions please reach out in the video comments. The Good Enough Guy Crafts on FB, Insta, Gmail, TikTok Here's the link tree! linktr.ee/TheGoodEnoughGuyCrafts
Thanks! I had a feeling that running both videos would appeal to a wider audience. I am going to make these ASMR versions fairly regularly. Thank you so much for the comments and the feedback enjoy your day
Your build was a symphony of simplicity! Brilliant! Now get Mama on the tube to teach us how she grows those tomatoes! PS; Ask her what growing zone you are in. I am West Central Florida....
We are in SW Florida- growing zone 10A. We are growing heirloom cherry tomatoes and "Everglades Tomatoes" The Everglades tomatoes are suited for our climate and will grow everywhere the birds and critters drop their seeds. They are smaller and a bit sweeter than normal cherry tomatoes. As far as the planters go- simplicity and strength are my go-to plans! Thanks for the comment!
I love the deeply discounted "half dead" plants from the big box stores for sure. Its always great when you can support your hobby / business with reduced cost!!
Well done Mate nice looking build and great voice-over. I have been building pc's now for around 23 yrs and have built many and still enjoy each one. I have always wanted to do build video and I am just not brave enough to do it.. Love the video well done again..
Love this video got watched it the other day , got the same case to upgrade had b550m prime ASUs your video helped me with my build with the fan hub all my fans are on but RGB only works on on one fan any suggestions ??
This hub has 2 plugs for each fan and an input from motherboard plus a SATA Power connector on the bottom. make sure each fan has both plugs connected to the correct connectors. The designations matter. Power/ argb control must match each output on the hub. and of course, it needs that SATA power to distribute to the fans. THEN make sure to controller hub's argb control is connected to the correct output on your mainboard.
These types of snap fittings are quite popular these days. But the way they actually come off the case can vary. I've only seen ones where they slot in at the front and snap in the back. I don't use an anti-static wrist strap - it can be ineffective in some cases and is annoying to wear. In the old days, I would plug a wire into the ground on an outlet and hold the other end between my toes. These days, I have tile floors and bare feet on tile is the best way to ensure you have no static discharge. Nice vid. Far too many PC vids are super bright and loud. This one was relaxing. Installing standoffs can be tricky, especially with inexpensive cases. You want to torque them more than you are going to torque the mounting screws so they don't come off when you remove the MB but cheap cases tend to use thin, soft steel so you are constantly running the risk of stripping out the hole. Then you're trying to put a tiny nut on the back of a standoff which is never fun, even when you have the right hardware on hand. Some low strength threadlocker might be a good idea on cheap cases, just to make sure they don't come loose easily. Getting the power switch wrong is quite common with novice builders. I've even done it myself and I built my first PC in the mid '90s.
I've been building since 90'as as well. Started with a 386/66! . I have murdered my share of PC parts. This is probably the third time I have missed the power button pins. As for stand offs, I am very careful with them as I too have stripped them out. I keep a few of the old snap in plastic ones around just in case. In this case, the holes drilled for the stand offs were TIGHT. I needed the hex nut driver to get them in all the way. Thank for the comment!
Hey, great job. Note : you would get better temps by having the side fans as intake instead of exhaust. When using a modular PSU an amazing tip is to run the cable from the motherboard first, cable manage the back clean and the slack will remain in front of the psu.
I have plans to add fans to exhaust out the top. Ans thanks, never ever thought to start with the mainboard and run TO the psu. It's all done now, maybe next time!
@@The_Good_Enough_Guy_Crafts i'm fairly sure you got enough fan at least on the performance stand Point for such specs. Exhaust at the back, intake side and you're golden.
I haven't either. The guy I reference in the video is hardcore "do it the right way." Working with EXTREMELY expensive equipment, takes no risks and expects those he works with to follow the guidelines. I could feel him cringe while I was working on this,
Yeah man, I wasn't about to drop $150 on a tool I wasn't absolutely sure I'd use. I'll be getting some use of this thing for sure! Thanks for the comment.
I did basic measurements before carving. Lol. Slapped together a quick tool path and bam. Good to go. I did measure my legs a little tight then over sanded. Sometimes the "Good Enough" gives my work the character it needs. Thanks so much for watching. If you enjoy just watching the router do it's thing, I'll be posting the full unabridged carve soon as an ASMR video.
Hey there - I found your channel from a search for garden planting, workbenches, etc.... seems your channel name fits my position as well! I like how informative your video is, but just one item I'd ask about... your microphone volume is very low compared to your music breaks. Those breaks just blow up and I can't adjust my volume quick enough... But keep the videos coming!
I am still learning to do the edits and whatnot. I use an old cell phone when I record and I'm stuck doing it alone. I will definitely keep this in mind on my next video....well, AFTER the one I am about to post now, that is. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, brother! I'm doing everything I can with a 12x24 space. It's gone through numerous reconfigurations and all my benches are on wheels. You do what you gotta do, right? Overall, "It's Good Enough!"
The lady has a steady hand... nice touch, nice project... How long did the CNC take to rout the plaque and what is its brand name? Would you recommend the machine? Good content...
This took about a half an hour to carve on my Inventables XCarve Pro> The wife got this for me a couple years ago to use for my hobby work. I've been learning slowly but moving forward with every carve. Between price, value, and community access/ video tutorials, Yes, I'd recommend this machine to any beginner. Geek Goddess says THANKS! She does have a steady hand- it's the reason I always ask her to do any minor detail painting and ALL the epoxy work. Here's a link to Inventables X Carve page: www.inventables.com/pages/x-carve-vs-x-carve-pro
Well, I don't have any cnc experience, but youtube algorithm sent me here so I guess I'm supposed to ask the stupid questions like: have you made sure nothing is physically slipping? I e. Marked the lead screw when the bit is at a particular height, and make sure it's at the same rotation after moving around a bit? Again, I have no clue and I've never seen your channel before or this problem either. I have had router bits slip and ruin diy projects when plunge routing manually tho. Im sure there are probably a million different ways gcode could go wrong too. Or misconfigured controllers. Hopefully someone who isn't just waffling pops by due to the length of my reply causing the algorithm to recommend it to others :)
Everything is great- every other carve. I use the 1/16th end mills all the time without issue. This ONLY happens when I run a detail carve on a 2.5/ 3d carve during the detail tool path (and have tried different ball nose bits). I am about to order new collets just in case though.
You just made my day! I was screaming at my laptop of your mistake, then... I thought you were on to something new. Anyway, it's just good enough! Thank you... Signed...Subscriber #85
Can you show me how to build the planter box. Im in love with gardening, but I can no longer plant on the ground because of my knee condition. And yes. it came out really a nice.
so f'ing dangerous it makes my eyes water. blade is way too high, way to slow on the push stick, hand behind the blade... are you out of your mind? You will lose your fingers.
Yeah.. During this project, I had a push stick hit the blade wrong, got caught and it shot back at my head; narrowly missing me and bouncing off the shop ceiling. I have had a nip on my right thumb before and tend to cut slower than i should. Also, I had a stroke in April 2022. I'm not 100%, but I'm not letting it stop me.
I am a "Back in the day" carpenter/welder plumber etc..Now that I have all the time in the world, I'm stuck in a condo with no work shop LOL! I like your "regular guy" approach. I am subscriber #55 and am going to follow you on your adventure. How often will you be posting videos?
I am hoping to post at least once a week. I do teach 5 days a week. I am currently in the middle of a big project and I'm videoing a little bit each time once I get that up I will be focusing more on smaller projects to keep the content flowing.
Thanks, man! I been crafting for a while now and this felt like the right time. You'll never find perfection on this channel. Working on a huge project for content this week
100% agree with not being perfect, just have fun with it!! I find smaller projects do slightly better with the algorithm and watch time! (at least for me) best of luck my dude!@@The_Good_Enough_Guy_Crafts
Hiii Mr. Shannon!!! 4th period kid and I think you might know who it is!! Anyways other than that the shop looks amazing!! Keep up the good work with the wood crafts!!!
