It’s about time Chris got some recognition! They should have mentioned Los Straight Jackets group and model. I’ve owned 4 DiPinto beauties, now 2 Galaxie IV’s. They are the most unique looking axes on the planet. With sounds to match!
The music is terrific. The look is so overdone that they look like a parody band. To paraphrase Han Solo, "look Glam ... But don't LOOK like you're looking Glam."
Chris is an old friend... he's always done over the top parody bands that have always truly ROCKED... he's also a master luthier with his own line of mass produced guitars and many major musicians have bought his personally handmade creations and has his own music shop in fishtown here in philly.. I've worked with him a bunch over the years (i'm a sound engineer, mostly live work) his metal band in the 90's, Wastoid, parodied all the Brit invasion metal of the 70's and early 80's but as always, went far beyond parody.. the parody is all in the stage show and presentation, the music is the real deal and amazing... I mean, I once saw him and his other guitarist pick their own guitars with their right hands but each play the necks of each others guitars with their left, actually doing high speed doubled solo runs... I mean, I can't even.... just... no words... wow. so yeah, the man is talented and only has talented people around him. oh and he's a darn nice guy as well... sweet as fucking pie. not a mean or egotistical bone in his body.
