Dads always offer advice, whether you want to hear it or not. We mean well, and do it out of love. If I can help a few people make better videos, while giving them a chuckle or two... well that makes me a happy camper.
In my channel, I'll talk about video editing, recording, lighting, audio and whatever else I can help with. If you're willing to learn, I'm happy to share what I know so you, too, can VIDEO LIKE A DAD!

Glad you found it useful. For text effects, I like to find Motion Graphics Templates (MOGRTs) on Envato Elements, Motion Array and other resources that I can customize. It saves a lot of work, and they're better at creating cool effects than I will ever be. 😂
Every 6 months or so I need to use this feature, and always come back to trusty RU-vid to clarify the difference in my head on which one to use. This was one of the shortest and most straightforward ways I've heard it explained. I might be starting to get it set into my longer term memory now lol. Thanks from a fellow dad who does video.
I'm so glad you found my video! To be honest, I probably made this video as a reminder to myself. 🤣 (Be sure to save it for future reference, and please subscribe so you get notified when I drop more tips.) In spite of what others may think, we dads sometimes have really helpful advice. Cheers and good luck on your video journey. 😁
Thanks for reaching out! I discovered that you can pan by moving your mouse beyond the edges of the zoomed area. This moves the zoomed area to follow the mouse. So zoom into your desired spot, then move the mouse left, right, up or down, out of the zoomed area and it should pan. Hope it helps!
Oh my goodness, Dad, I feel so called out here! 😂 I haven’t posted a video to my TikTok yet because A. The platform’s rules feel like a minefield! What if I mess up and get suspended?! B. I’m still figuring out all the editing tricks-I’ve only dabbled with iMovie & CapCut. So C. My videos will probably be more ‘charming chaos’ than ‘perfect masterpiece’! 🤪 And let’s not forget D. I don’t have a tripod, a light, or a mic, and choosing one out of the 70 million options online is overwhelming. I think I’m suffering from a severe case of ‘paralysis by analysis.’ 😂 But hey, it looks like I found you for more than just learning how to frame my video to use the back (aka BETTER) lens on my phone (Mac user here, and thanks for that tip!)!
Paralysis by analysis gets most of us (including me)! Just start experimenting and posting videos BEFORE you feel like you're ready. Make it your goal to improve on something with each video. Eventually, it will feel more natural and less intimidating. As you said, I have tons of tips on my channel and I'm always looking for topics people need help with. Cheers and Happy Creating! 😄
Not sure about all Android phones but if you have a Samsung and go into Pro Video mode there is an option for Mic and you can adjust the input level there. From a fellow Dad!!
I would love to know which mount rig this is. I checked out your store, but couldn't tell which item was the one in this video. I need one that can be used both vertically and horizontally. Thanks.
Hey, Jill! Thanks for reaching out. Here's a link to the rig, which I still use all the time. 😄 Let me know if I can help with anything else. Cheers! geni.us/wrAnx4L

Strange. Mine shows it in the proper aspect. Which MacBook and MacOS are you on? Mine is a MacBook Pro 2019 running Ventura MacOS. You may also want to try the Shoot app for iPhone to get a "clean" feed without the iPhone camera's information.
Im using macbook pro 2019 too. I just figured out that i have to switch my iphone 15pro max to cinematic mode so that it can switch to landscape on my macbook before switchinh back to the normal photo mode. Think it could be a bug in the Ip15.
Elbow's in always makes it better. I used to take telephoto long exposure waaaaaaay bake in the day, and they came out nice. Now I have tripods, monopods, and other stuff, but I don't do photography or videography anymore. Just candid family shots when were out spending time as a family.
Candid family shots are the best, @adonian ! Elbows in feels weird at first, but after you get used to it, it can really make a difference. Thanks for commenting!
Apple says you need to be running iOS 14 or later on your iPhone, and macOS Monterey or later on your Mac or MacBook. Also, your MacBook needs to be one that was introduced in 2018 or later. Hope this helps! 😄
@@jagajagamwav36334 Sorry to hear. It seems like you need to replace computers at least every 4 years or so these days to keep up with all of the advances in apps. I wish you the best!
Brilliant job done, Nicely explained , a quick short yet very crisp and to the point.. one small suggestion; plz keep the sfx (whooshes) to the minimum. As an ordinary visitor on your channel, i was more interested in ur words not the sfx (distracting). and even if u want to use , it should be a softer sounding one , this one was something like a "swish" . but yeah *I got benefited from the tutorial* . Keep it coming. *SUBSCRIBED*
Thanks so much. I’m glad it helped. I can tone down the sfx for future videos. 😄 It’s a crossover from all of the shorts content, where it has been helpful for retaining attention. I appreciate the feedback.
I get disgracted while i am beeing distracted 😅 i feel that haha (also thats for vaccum sealing the Coffee if i remember correctly) i left a subscription because you are so relatable ❤😊
Thanks so much! I also did a follow up video where I Googled it. It is supposed to release the carbon dioxide and prevent oxygen from getting back in. 😁
That bag reminds me. My friend, a special ed teacher had a couple of his older students at his place. They were watching TV. I came over with something I had learned to do. Grab a one pound coffee bag..(they're lined) Melt some chocolate in a pot, then brush that chocolate on the inside of the bag all the way to the top to it's serrated edge. Then freeze it for an hour. Take it out, peel off the bag, and you have a chocolate bag. Looking at it, we both pondered what to put in it. The guys in the other room heard us and in unison, they both piped up at the same time..." Ice cream!"
I think it happens if you do any editing/alteration. The good thing is you can try it and if it does cut out the chat, you can undo the editing and it will be back to normal. Let me know how it goes.
@@videolikeadad Yeah, I think it does included muted songs. I tried to jog my memory and checked a live stream I muted something in a couple years ago, and that one doesn't have the Live Chat Replay option. What sucks is I got a copyright for 20 seconds of music that played in a three hour live stream, lol; and there were a ton of live comments so I don't want to lose them. Ah well.
@@PokoTraveler That’s sad. They should at least allow a way to copy and paste the chat messages to Comments. I’ll see if I put in a request to a guy that is a creator liaison at RU-vid. You never know. 😄
I am here becasue of this. Yes, entire live chat replay GONE (Unable to reenable) when i MUTED a copyright song (song last only about 20 secs). AND I cannot revert/ go back to original state. what on earth.
Not just a selfie... a "high-quality lens" way to monitor the framing of your shots so that you're not off-centered when you don't have a professional videographer shooting your videos... or a really good selfie. 😂
It comes from my many years in professional video production where we ALWAYS had to have a monitor to look at while filming. Old habits, but helpful. 😁 Thanks for commenting, and let me know if there are any video editing or production topics you'd like to see me cover.
