out of all the phenomenal takes on this phenomenal track, this version is my favourite. From the origiginal, to the brawl remix to PFF's cover to GaMetal's cover, THIS version to my ears stands above them all.
As someone who grew up with both Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Smash Bros Brawl, this just hits way too hard. It's obviously a VERY quality song, thank you, but MAAAN the memories of little me curled up on the living room couch and playing Returns or Brawl on the Wii just hit like a gorilla-driven truck. There was clearly love and effort put into both the individual soundtracks and into this arrangement, and I appreciate the heartful, homey feeling of this song that any of us childhood gamers can sit down and jive to in our own little corners of life.
Woah. This remix knows the weight it's carrying, of the original as one of the greatest video game songs of all time, and also of the Brawl remix, as one of the greatest remixes of all time, and does it incredible justice. It has like this epic feeling to it, sort of positioning BB/SS as like a part of this epic universe and definitely the part we're here to see, but also lets us know how much more there is to the totality. Really beautifully crafted stuff.
Reminds me of the time my best friend and I went through the subspace emissary, it was truly a magical experience. Despite the characters not speaking a single word, Nintendo was able to tell such a moving, amazing story. He and I got chills running through the forest as Donkey Kong and Diddy… damn I wish I could go back to 2009 when times were easier. Not having to worry about real life problems, coming home to play super smash bros, club penguin or super Mario galaxy.
This is one of the best remixes of this song I've ever heard, right next to Avizura's Turn the Tides version. Just amazing in every way! Outstandingly beautiful! 😃👌
Ever since Brawl, Smash has been a part of my life. It is sort of the last remainder of a time that has since passed. Thank you for this incredible arrangement.
Had a dream last night that I was drowned by an entity called the deep man. He was a man with an all white (pale) face, surrounded by a black cloth like deaths robes. He drowned me by wrapping this cloth around my face and dragging me underwater.
