Thank you! This square stumped me in an afghan pattern I bought. I wish it had just said FPsc 😅 that would have made a lot more sense than how it was written.
For those using the pattern written in the description of the video, Row 5 of the Mantle should be ch1, inc, 6sc, inc. Inc being 2sc together in same stich. Hope this helps.
This is awesome, thank you so much! I'm going to give this a try in purple but add a layer of green to the underside of him, wish me luck😅, and again thank you for taking the time to make this video ❤!
you're a life saver! thank you for all the effort of filming in a lighter colour. making this for my boyfriend for his birthday, he's going to love it <3
This is so easy and free???? Have never seen this channel before but the cheapest I could find this pattern online was like $6 and this makes more sense than that. I love this guy mwah
Thank you so much for this tutorial! How would I go about making a larger one? With the mantle, would it just be a matter of starting with more stitches and continuing with increasing more and more rows?
I think you would just keep increasing for the head and the mantle. And then just follow the decrease for the head, remembering it will just take more rounds. I have some commission pieces to do, but I should be able to make a video for the larger version by early October.
Hello, if I want to make it bigger how will look like instructions? I dont know how to adapt increase and decrease if i want to make it bigger. Can you please guide me?
Hello, for the head you would just keep increasing at the rate the pattern has and then decrease at the same rate too. For the mantle you would just increase. I have some commission pieces to do, but I should be able to make a video making a larger octopus in early October.
Waste of time you need to re-do the video in a lighter color and slower you lost me on the mantra and how to put it together I spent all afternoon for nothing
you could always learn how to follow the description he so kindly wrote out specifically for this instead of taking your frustration out on him for no good reason
I tried following both his video and the written instructions, still couldn't figure it out, went to written instructions thinking that would help but actually it made it worse! Would be nice if this dude read his comments and added some clear instructions or asked where people were stuck and then offered help!
@@satouchan1428 learn the definition of a Karen, all she's saying is the video was too fadt and the written instructions made no sense, how are people supposed to grey better at presenting their videos if nobody is allowed to give criticism for fear if being called a Karen!!!
Thank you for this tutorial! I wanted to crochet my boyfriend an octopus for his birthday but I wanted it to look more realistic vs cute and this is basically the only semi-realistic octopus tutorial and it was really easy to follow! My boyfriend loved his octopus. Please make more videos! You're very talented. Also, love the channel name!
I made Mandala Madness by Helen Shrimpton, I wanted the ombré effect and I couldn’t find a color way that was long enough to go from dark to light. I also added additional rounds to the project and that’s why I needed so much yarn. If you look on my Instagram page the bearded hooker 3, you can see a picture of it finished.
Very nice pocket shawl with pockets. Are you the guy on the videos for a Stitch a Day (I think that’s what it was called)? You sound like him. I have some Red Heart Dreamy I’m going to use. I think the Yarn Sub app said it’s a good substitution. Can you suggest good substitutions in the future for those of us that get crazy itchy from wool? Thanks!!
Laurel Girard thank you. I’m not this is the only place I make videos. Lion brand has some nice acrylic yarn. Also, do you know if it’s just sheep’s wool that bothers you? I know some folks can use alpaca wool and that does not cause itchyness. Mainstay produces a bulky 100% cotton yarn if you wanted a natural fiber.
@@thebeardedhooker317 I have a lot of allergies, wool, cat fur, dog fur, pollen, grass, etc., and have had them since I was a kid. I am, more than likely allergic to alpaca too. Actually, I think I read that it’s hypoallergenic. I’ll pick up a skein of it & check it out. I can give it to my sister if it bothers me. I had 3 skeins of Dreamy that I got this summer on super sale! I’ve been looking for something nice to use it on.
@@thebeardedhooker317 I have four skeins of Hobby Lobby Love this Cotton which is soft, but I don’t know if it is warm enough for a New England winter. I was on. “Rose Pink” kick this summer and bought several yarns in this color! I wish I still had some Hobby Lobby Love This Yarn acrylic. That would make an awesome pocket scarf. Actually l, I started a sweater but ran out and couldn’t decide on a color for the sleeves. Maybe I’ll frog that and make a pocket scarf or shawl. I’m kinda saving the cotton for a. Cotton purse for next summer. I haven’t made one in a while. Thanks for giving me some ideas!!
Laurel Girard I don’t shop at hobby lobby, but if it’s a bulky weight it should be good and warm. If it’s not bulky weight, you could line it with fleece or flannel to make it warmer.
Just found you in my feed! This is super simple (good trait) and super pretty! Thank you. 😊 I just used Fabri-Tac the other day to glue on an appliqué to a blanket. That was the first time I did that, and it worked out beautifully. I don’t think I’m going to sew it on. It doesn’t need it. I can see how pockets would, though.
Joy K thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it and Fabric-Tac is amazing, I use to attach flowers to wreaths, reinforce stitches on children toys, and to hold things in place while adding reinforcement stitches.
