Aw man. Me and my mate were out spotting further up the road and we saw them coming towards us. We got our cameras out ready and they exited off of the road we were on before they got to us lol. Glad somebody else caught them though
Hi I was in the Auxiliary Fire service at Tamworth Staffordshire, We had a rear wheel drive unit Reg NYV 228. also a 4 wheel drive Hose Layer which carried 6/8in pipes and hose also a bridge to put over a road to carry water. We also had what was called a Bikini Unit a Commer 4 wheel drive which carried 3 water rafts and 10 Coventry Climax pumps same as the ones carried on the fire engines. Each raft carried 3 pumps one to power the raft and two to pump water. We had lots of fun using them all but it was hard going you needed plenty of crew to use them.
Sounds like a good line up, I’ve got this goddess and a 4x4 goddess in my current collection down south and it takes a few of us to use the pumps and 6” relay gear
Great Catch! Question, how do know what kind of call they have? Because I'll travel in a few weeks to U.K. to film fire brigade as well and I am curious how the callout signs works. Do you have a fire pager or is there a website to see the callouts like there is here in The Netherlands? Hope to hear from you :)
Only reason I know what the job was is someone at the station said what it was. In the uk callsign a change depending what county they are we do them in Hampshire by what type of appliance they are so this being a spare pump is a papa 1 as has 1800l water and a 135 ladder a papa 4 would be the same but with a 105 ladder a papa 7 is the same as a papa 1 but with a foam tank and a papa 6 is a compact pump are ALPs are all Alpha 1 and that’s it really. The service dose say what the jobs are if they are big and f sorts but apart from that it’s a matter of asking about I hope that’s ok without being confusing😅
