met roughy once in a pub when i was 10 and since then he was always my favourite player absolutely amazing guy and equally amazing player absolute legend of the club
suckling reminds me of the old afl pc games, where once you pressed to kick, it went into this same pre-baked motion of kicking for each type of kick. The 7:07 highlight exemplifies what I mean. Was such a valuable player to just pop up and do something, just like Youngy before him.
IMHO, at the end of 2015 Clarkson panicked and thought, "Better try and rebuild now and not get caught short!" So, Lake and Hale were the first to be sacrificed. Then came the disaster of 2016! And they were SO close!! Imagine if Lake was in either of those finals; especially put onto Stringer in the second one?! After those 2 games, Hawthorn's playing soul had been destroyed. Shameful how all those once lauded Heroes were shown the door after that. Lake especially could have, should have, gone one more year!!
I’m a Bloods supporter and always used to say as soon as Mitchell gets the ball in the middle, Hawthorn players just spread and there was going to be a shot on goal. Brilliant player and now a very good coach who has his young team humming …
I'd love to think some of the younger hawks see this, I know Sam will let him know how good he was but you don't really comprehend it until you see it. He was the most impressive VFL player I ever saw and one of the genuine all time great Hawks, probably underrated by many because we had so many great players. Would not have swapped him from any player in his era and so glad he is coaching us.
Gotta take your hat off to those Geelong supporters in the background behind the stage, clapping for Crawford and prob probably the other players. Bravo 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
So I type in "people attacking killer whales" and this video comes up around 9 in the list as "related" to my search. If I was Elon musk, I'd take down youtube. Since I'm not, I'll just dream of how youtube used to be.
What a dream run for Lake, 3 years at Hawthorn with 3 premierships. Lake was a fantastic player and an integral part of the Hawks backline. Kills me to say it but in my view he was a better player than Chris Langford.
