Last time me and my wife went there was for the last Obake shootout we did. Caught a 5 pound Papio on her pole cause she was tired lol and no we didn’t enter it!!
@@hawaiirhinofishing It's a good thing, Rhino! Love watching your vids! Love the little jokes and comedy that you insert here and there. Like that Aunty on the Hilo breakwall!🤣. I crack up at that kind stuff! That Aunty reminded me of this Portuguese aunty that used to live next to my grandmother. Really nice lady, and she treated my grandmother very well. But MAN DID SHE LIKE TO TALK!!!!!🤣
Mahalo for the video! When you walk out into the water to cast, have you ever accidentally tripped and fell and dunked your reel in the water? That's why I scared walk out to cast. I ruined a reel that way. Accidentally fell as I was walking out, and my reel got submerged. Salt water got inside.
Yikes -yes I have fairly recently too at a night session with oiohiitman Rob in kbay-I was coming in after walking way out to the reef edge and didn’t see a small puka in the reef and semi faceplanted in the water 🥴-and yeah had to rinse down the reel with fresh water after-top shape 💯🙏🏽

@@JosephRamos-p3w howzit Bruddah Joe-I normally don’t blast out certain spots on social -but I will say that this is on a military base on the Windward side of Oahu, and to be honest I don’t even know if this spot has a name -hope that helps 😂🤙🏽🤙🏽
28:20 - That happens to me a lot too, Rhino. Very frustrating. To be fair, though, oftentimes it's local people too that go right over our lines, even though they see us fishing. I never say anything cause I no like any headaches and hassles. But what makes it so frustrating is, oftentimes, there's HUNDREDS of yards of open water, to the left or to the right, that they could swim, but, for whatever reason, they choose to swim in the ONE SPOT on the entire beach that someone is fishing...🤦♂
Yup 💯 locals are not exempt… I think ignorance crosses all demographics 😂-but you are right, I think the lead sinkers might have some magnetic qualities to them 🧲😂
I fished that spot a few years back…all night the nenues were biting…plenty practice for catch and release…looking forward to seeing the vids of you using that “candy” 🎣🤙🏽…and rajah…popcorn always better with mochi crunch 😋

@@peterpan6969 howzit Bruddah sorry to hear of your situation. The easiest most convenient fishing I’ve found is on the east side of Oahu -various spots from kaaawa to hauula where you can pull over and the ocean is right there-no need difficult hike or dangerous rocks -check out my vid “papio frenzy” -that might be the type of spot that would be accessible for you. Good luck and God bless 🙏🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
My dad would agree with you... blackies and manini make the best frying fish. He would also agree when you clean em, it is pilau. He would cut lemon or lime and just rub it all ovah his hand, cutting board, counter 😂
@@MAYJAYKINETINGZ check out TBD fishing --I pretty sure was them went overnight action at the end and get some kinda small light house kine thing -much action 🤙🏽
Great video brother! Oceanside native here, I’ve caught a lot of halibut right in that same spot you were at good size too really good eating man make great fish tacos. I like to catch my own bait usually at the Oceanside pier first with a sabiki rig you can buy for 3$ at Walmart if no live bait you can get frozen squid for like 5$ the halibut hit hard on the bottom even with frozen squid it’s a little better than a floater. Sometimes I take a bigger rod and reel with 30# test and steel leader throw a whole squid on and catch leopard shark or big bat rays 50 pounds plus for a really fun fight. Got a new sub from me bro enjoyed the content 👍🏼
@@cgutzog howzit Bruddah Chris --thank you for watching and for dropping so much great info--I’m pretty sure me and fishdroppah will be heading back there sometime soon since he lives up in San Diego part time. Will definitely try that-big mahalos 💯🤙🏽🤙🏽
