Hey guys just want' a throw ya out a comment(more like advice) on the build. I love your style,work ethic, particularness and fussyness if they are words even but BE CAREFUL. On the LS conversion and all the modern updates ----won't make that truck bring 50 cents more even if ya take it to Mecum OR Barrett's auctions. The biggest money is in the 50-70 year old demographic and they have the biggest money. Check me out if you've not heard of me up hear in Midwest(Waukon, Iowa) have been featured in (2) major off-road magazines and had two up to three of these '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 3/4 ton 4x4's for sale in all trader mag's. I've bought , sold, and body-off and body -on restored just under 400 of them since 1979. i would of hit 400 but had to retire last year after two open heart operations and being 63 years old now. You boys did damn good on the truck --believe me!!! I know what I'm talk'in about, I've done close to 400 of these '67-'72's since 1980. Been in two major truck magazines and sent trucks to Canada,Australia and all over continental U.S. If I like a truck---I think it should carry some weight. The only thing that bugs the hell out of me is that dang red piping you got around the bench seat ---IT LOOKS LIKE A FRICK'IN FORD!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully, you take off the carb and get the sand out of the manifold. The disc brakes were added as well as the alternator. It can all be repaired if you give some time to it. Great find. John
I'm doing the same thing to my 72 c10 put the filler behind the side marker. Do you have anymore videos of installing the tank and filler neck. ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED!
Trying to do something similar. Only I bought a kit to go through the tail light. I have the tank in but it has a vertical Phil the ones that go through the bed. Still scratching my butt as to how I'm going to get a hose over to that fill. Not sure if there's going to be enough room between the bed and the frame rail to get a hose over to the vertical Phil. I know I'm going to need an elbow on that Phil. But wondering about the space between the bed and the frame rail in that corner area of the bed. I have the bed but I'm only one guy so it's difficult to put on and off with a cherry picker but I guess that's what I'm going to need to do. Or look at a complete truck.
@@jimmysapien9961 that's the one we used. It is a tight fit between the bed and the frame. We did cut one of the frame rails and welded it back up to give it some strength back. We had a harder time with the vent. You really need to make sure it get higher than the fill hose.
Great progress! One question though, when that motor is rocking around are those headers going to bump into the frame? It looks tight, even with the delete.
When it started coming out of the brush I heard the voice of Hank Hill in my head saying, Bobby, What in the blue blazers is that?... then the voice of Hank Hill started talking on the video. Anyway, i love seeing these old k5's getting another chance!
