Reese Townes is a prospector from Montana who has been prospecting for gold in Montana, Northern Idaho, and Northern California since 1980. Reese is the author of "The Nugget Shooter's Field Guide". Reese is currently working on his third book called "Strategic Gold Detecting - The Art & Science Of Gold Nugget Exploration & Recovery". Reese will have content to help both seasoned nugget shooters' as well as those just starting out, find more gold more consistently. The Townes Theory is an applied theory that can help you find the earliest stage of a stream or river system to help you find old bench deposits that are high up on the benches. This Theory when applied will give you a visual boundary as to how high up the bench the gold was deposited. His website is goldseekerbooks.com
I have been reserving the Manticore for coins but will try it out for patch clean up after seeing this! Only minus I have struggled with is attempting to run close to the 6K. It does not like the 6K at least I have not figured it out yet.
Very interesting video brother.👍👍 Cool to see the old school equipment.🤔🤔 Lots of large garnets, never get them that big here in Arizona. Thanks for sharing your mine tour with us my friend. 😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
Exploring old and new gold nugget hunting or any type of prospecting should be dowsed with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod. The gold feeders talked about in this video can be dowsed using physics, along with dowsing the most concentrated pockets of gold nuggets. My father and I reverse engineered the physics involved in dowsing, for setting up our old core-drill exactly on top of gold & silver veins that are buried under 200 feet of glacier rock and till. We invented the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod, which is the only dowsing rod that accurately gauges the element being dowsed by pitting the energy of gravity against the energizing of the pure one-tenth ounce dowsing rod load that is tapped onto the elevated acetylene welding rod, which free spins on ball bearings. This precisely gauges the dowsing of all edges, exact center, depth buried with angle of deposition, and most important is grading or deciphering the amount of the dowsed element that is contained in the elemental mass that is being dowsed. These dowsing physics with applied dowsing technics is too important for myself to selfishly take to the grave. So I wrote a book to teach the world how to use physics in dowsing, which is marketed at the lowest price possible with titling my book: The Art of Dowsing - Separating Science from Superstition ($14.95), by Michael Fercik. My book teaches all the physics involved in dowsing (same physics that sounds the alert on electronic metal detectors), and how to build the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod for applying physics in dowsing. Anybody can become a professional dowser by practicing my book's dowsing lessons of buried pipelines and electrical cables, tunnels and voids, precious and base metal placer and lode deposits, dowsing for treasure, dowsing for any element, amplified long distance dowsing from a moving vehicle, and dowsing on water from a boat. I hope dowsing enriches your life intellectually and financially.
Good find! I have the Avantree speakers but when I lean closer to the coil to run the scoop over it it fouls the 6k. I run the coil tec 9x14 (fantastic). I tried ground ballancing within 4' of the Avantree and reseting the EMI but it still fouls. I am forced to take off the speekers and set at least 5' or so away to run the scoop over the coil. Pretty irritating and slows me down but it is better than over heating on hot days. Do you do anything to fix the backfeed or do you think my Avantree speakers are bad/need replaced?
Good video brother. Test, Test, Test is the name of the game as far as gold prospecting in general. Detecting is no different brother. New sub to you. Just started collecting hot rocks and crushing them for possible gold. Good catch on the caliche gold. Thanks for sharing your adventure. 😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
I’ve ordered a bag from them before, absolutely nothing in it, ordered another from his neighbor, absolutely nothing in it, ordered from another Spokane bar I think, just a bunch of quartz, maybe you have to go there to find anything but whatever you do do not pay for the bags, that’s a money grab and should be illegal false advertising at most
The Gpx6000 is a very capable detector and I love that machine. I have found most of my gold with the 6000. Hunting gold full-time with no consistent passive income coming in is tough. I rely on the gold I find to sell and book sales, training classes and that is it! I have to make do with what I have and constantly come up with new strategies, theories on how to get to detectable gold. All of this knowledge gets passed down to all who buy my books.
@@goldseekeradventures640 ~Thank you for your reply, that is a very good report! I do understand what you’re saying and greatly respect you for your honesty. I am in northern Alberta (in an isolated area fairly far north of Edmonton) amongst glacial till with no bedrock showing around here which might be about 1000’ feet (330 yards) deep down. The closest exposed bedrock that I know of is about a 3 hour drive west of here towards B.C.. But some of the glacial till around here is loaded with very highly mineralized rock. The false bedrock (or hardpan) here is brown and gray clay. I bought a 6000 with all 3 stock coils, the NF Exceed, and CT Goldhawk 9”. I have only went out once so far to look for gold. Now the forest fires have finally settled down and the heavy rain is settled down so I plan to start going out detecting now for the month of August and September. A big worry for me is the danger of grizzly bears around here which are local. Anyway I want to give detecting the glacial till a shot. I know there’s no gold near the (vein) source because the gold is all mixed up from the glaciers but I’m going to give it a try anyway.

I really appreciate your Manticore gold prospecting videos! Please keep them coming. BTW, I just recently purchased your book titled "The Nugget Shooters Field Guide:. I have learned a lot from it. I find your your book extremely valuable!
I assume you have owned and used both the gold monster and the 800 with the small coil. Do you feel the Manticore is a leap forward compared to the other two, or just a bit better and the latest gold capable VLF.
I can't say that it is better or not better than the other two. However for me, I like the Manticore better after having owned and ran all three. The reason I like it more, is the target id screen, the small elliptical coil, the 15" coil, seems to be a tad bit lighter, and the ferrus indicators. Im told it won't find gold as tiny and solid as the monster, but I am not after extremely tiny gold all the time as that won't accumulate fast enough to earn a living with a detector. I like the discrimination and the option to hunt cabin areas and underwater. Versatility!
nice small pieces! just curious their weight in grams? My smallest with the 6000 and a Coiltek 5'x10" was a .68 grain. How is your new book coming along? Keep swinging and heavy pans!
I know the M8 would be better for the small gold, but what do you think about the M9? I have always liked round over the elliptical coils. Enjoyed the video Reese.
I watched the video on the M9 and I think that particular coil will be best suited for treasure hunting and beach/underwater hunting. I do use the 12x15 M15 and I love that coil. It was the M15 I was using when I found the two species
Beautiful day up there that day. Great catch on that tiny flake with the manticore. Very impressed it can see stuff that small. As always buddy I had a blast and look forward to the next outing.
Right on! Ive also seen the evidence and am certain the great Flood as described in the bible is key to understanding gold deposits and so called ancient river systems. Good on you brother for thinking outside the "official" narrative.
It's a great machine, the 6000. I sold it because I had to pay bills and selling it and keeping my Gpx5000 was the route I chose to go. I upgraded my 5000 to be wireless and got two more coils. I do miss the 6000. I have been hunting a lot with the Manticore and I absolutely love this machine. It's getting me tiny tiny gold and big specimens.
Gold Seeker is putting on a presentation at the Butte GPAA chapter tonight 6-10-2024 7ish, I highly recommend if you can go, a lot of great information. 🤜🤛🇺🇸⛏️
Hi Reese, I talked to you at the Gold Show in Quartzsite this winter, I live in TFalls. Do you ever wish you could just beam yourself back to AZ once in a while? You never know for sure what Montana is going to serve up for weather. Hope you have a good season over there in the high country, maybe we will cross paths again next year in AZ.
Why yes I do! Lol 🤣. Right now is one of those times. Thanks for commenting. Not sure if I will be down in AZ this winter. With the elections taking place Nov 4, I don't want to be outside of Montana if the election is stolen again by the left. Who know what they will try to force on us if it is at that point. Plus I need to spend time over the winter and try to finish my next book, "Strategic Gold Detecting" so I can get it printed this next spring.
I'm going to say that that crap was placed there to keep you from putting your detector in there.Pretty clever, pilus it marks the spot instead of a pile of rocks I laughed so hard at your responses, you crack me up. You say sh#t with such discust. 😅😂😅😂
