It doesn't look too special but it's kinda crazy how specific it is. I did a lot of testing with variations and every other option I tested either doesn't kill or has an air tech window. Also starting with charge heavy gives you the best combo scaling.

Also remember to break wall with 214P. Might not be the most damaging option but it applies stain status. Mentioned this. + 50% meter basically can drive to checkmate scenarios depending the state of the match. Keep the grinding up

Personally i can usually find my own decently strong combos after awhile, and with Narmaya i managed that much with her first set getting over 10,000 before the stun ended though the circumstances to do it were not ideal. But when it came to her second set i couldnt find anything other than stringing some basic attacks from it into the first sets combo i made. Not to mention that sometimes the dmg numbers would be off by a pretty noticeable amount, like id do the combo and get the 10k but it wouldnt be the same amount of hp gone from the bar, or id do the same leveld up super but bc the dummie hit the ground during it it whiffed the full animation and did 6000 dmg but some how it took the bar down WAY more. Like the dmg numbers compared the the amount of hp lost seem way off sometimes. I havent noticed this with anyone other than narmaya though i havent taken the time to check with others

Narm doesn't have too many overhead mixes, so strike throw is your go to. You can also do staggered lights and try to frame trap your opponent into pushing a button. There are some good pressure guides on youtube going over blue stance pressure since her moves have more plus frames in blue stance

I go for the grab to and the special strike I either get pressed or dp hopefully in the future they make her flip attack a overhead

Personally I'm not a fan of J4. I think there is definitely someone better that can take his spot. There are certain champs you said wouldn't be difficult like Oriana for example. Street Fighter has a character called Menat and she has an orb she uses for combos and setplay. The foundation for certain champs are there but I love the video!

For me, (using simple inputs), after the fireball in the corner, I simply press jump and then special+heavy at the same time. Should be pretty easy once you get the timing. Just practice doing jump and then immediately special+heavy. Once you get the timing down, it should be easier to do it in a combo.

For midscreen to keep your pressure in blue stance hit confirm MMM 236L microdash Close.5H, seen as she doesn't have many options this is safe to DP baits DP and you get to keep your turn with plus frames to push them to the corner where she can shine

Well she has 2 dps. 4 if you include meters. That alone gives you lots of almost "free" damage from simply using it during an enemy plus move or use it to check holes in your opponents pressure strings (but be careful don't get caught when they ended their pressure) Her 214U on both stances are pretty good round enders, especially easy to catch out players who sat back at low health and start throwing fireballs, but beware of players who knew of the trick (they can easily jab them out if you use it on neutral) Make sure you can do the 70% hp full meter one diamond combo, her 6k hp 75% meter mid screen combo, and she is lethal, yet doesn't feel cheap (outside of her 2 jumpscares)

@@astraseven yeah somewhat. I feel like the game allows you to make a couple of mistakes in neutral. It kinda tells you “it’s your fault you’re in the corner, now suffer”. All fgs have similar mind games though

3:49 Yes, she doesn't have a far L so it does feel stubby, but that means all 5L hits can go into auto combo. And I believe it reaches farther than any other close L (just not as much range as a far L). Thanks for the combo at 12:05! I've never seen it before, and it actually feels more comfortable than most stagger combos to me because I don't have to do any dash input. I've gotten to S rank with her and a few other characters too. There's still so much I can improve on. I fought a S+ player in a lobby today and they felt almost untouchable as they just rolled over me with ridiculous pressure and punishing every attempt I made to take my turn.

I'm gonna end up suggesting things for most of your characters. I started writing this, and then kept having thoughts about your suggestions, so I've added this as a preface for the rest of this absurdly long comment. I know it's super early on in the video, but.... Blitz for the grappler of Project L? What about Sett? Thinking to his kit in LoL, his E is a grab, and his ult is a piledriver. I'd consider Sett as the grappler before Blitz. I know that Blitz is one of the faces of League, but probably not as a grappler. Maybe more of a footsies character like Testament from GGS with decent ranged normals and the ability to pull enemies in as a shmix tool. Lee would absolutely be a shoto more similar to Sol than Ryu. I mean, he's got everything that a shoto needs. A fireball (Lee Q1), a tatsu (both in Lee Q2 and W1), a DP-adjacent (Lee E1 & R), and his name is 3 letters long (Sol, Ryu, Ken). I'd be more likely to include someone like Xerath or Ziggs over Lux & Syndra as a zoner, as they're significantly closer range. Thinking about zoners' main prerogative, they want to sit as FAR away from the enemy as possible where they can use their slower but longer range moves to exert maximum pressure. Thinking to LoL, where does Ziggs want to be? Far away from you so he can toss his bombs. Where do you want Xerath to be? In a different game because his stupid spells outrange anything that you can do to him and then just walk away. Syndra would be an interesting zoner, but she would likely end up playing more like a pixie/glass cannon character (snooze, this archetype is generally boring, not including Chipp Zanuff, who trades damage for mix. Wowee you hit me 3 times and I'm dead. I hit you 3 times and you're dead) because it would be similar to her playstyle in game. I did like your idea of making her a setplay character though. If she was more like Answer from GGXrd and less like Phoenix from UMVC3 it'd be a more interesting character. Azir would be a good puppet character, but also a good setplay character like Beerus in DBFZ or Venom from GGXrd, where he needs to set up his balls (soldiers) and then give them orders in order to set up excellent solo mix. Instead of any of those, I think a good puppet could be Vex with Shadow, or (as a stretch) Xayah and Rakan. Vex wouldn't be that interesting because it's just Zato-1, but Yordle. Xayah + Rakan however, could serve as interesting puppet characters, with Xayah being the point and Rakan being the "puppet". If you need a lore reason it's something along the lines of like "Ohh Rakan just LOVES it when a woman takes charge" or something. But it'd have the dynamic of using Rakan to set up for Xayah to unload massive damage with his supportive capabilities. Riven would be a perfect pick for a Rekka character I think. I don't know how it's going to work because there's 2 different options. 1. It's just tied to one special, but it's the classic 1, 2, 3 and she'd have access to her other abilites, or 2. ALL her specials serve as different parts of the Rekka, allowing for cool mix, but kinda gutting her other abilities to make space for the complex Rekka. Either way, she'd be perfect for an install super, (her R making her sword a lot larger), so I'm with you 100000% on this one. I feel what you're saying about a lot of the mages, but I think that there's room to explore in the "footsies" archetype, where you're trying to make the opponent slip up a certain distance away from you and then using your footsies to get in and get a full combo on punish. By room to explore, I mean sub-archetypes, like "This character excels at setplay... within footsies range" or "This character excels at rushdown.... after using their footsies to make the opponent commit to an unsafe option". Many of the ADCs are always going to be hard, except maybe Samira, Kai'Sa, or Kalista, simply because of them playing differently from ADCs normally. But they'd need to be careful to not make Samira literally Dante or Vergil from UMVC3. Those characters are BRO KEN dude. Aside from those 3, I can't really see it being anything other than "Wow, this sure is a character that can keep their distance and punish me from almost full screen". God I'm just now realising how passionate I am about this. Alright, let me reformat my text so it's easier to read. A massive component of Camille's design choices are to do with precision. I think that that really translates into a high skill ceiling character that CAN dish out massive damage, but the hitboxes and the execution for it would make it exceedingly hard. I don't know how much of her LoL kit you could realistically keep when pulling her over, especially because she's p decent at doing trades in LoL, but one does not trade in FGs. Her Q1 and Q2 can probably stay though. Maybe only one use per combo of Q2. And maybe if she spaces things right she builds more meter? Again, not sure about this one, but there's a few methods to make Camille work very well. Most assassins would have to fall under the Pixie archetype I talked about earlier, which as I've stated, I find quite boring. You might go "Ahhh, but pixies need to be ranged though, right?" and I guess that, yeah, ranged pixies and melee pixies have differences, but I don't find them divergent enough from each other to truly justify calling them different archetypes. The biggest one I can think of that might be more interesting is Zed with his shadows, but most assassins would, similar to most ADCs do the same stuff over and over. Going back to Zed, I think he could be basically THE Chipp of Project L because of his excellent mobility and therefore really good mix. But I just can't imagine Diana having anything that wouldn't be a Pixie, because she has good mobility, excellent damage, and dies if you so much as see her on her way in. I think that you're selling Mundo a little short here. Yeah, he's simple, but he'd just be a massive character on screen, similar to Abigail from SFV. And he could have the unique mechanic of being able to heal faster while switched out because he's doctor or something. Or that the longer he's off the screen, the more damage each hit does (like him stacking health in-game). There's quite a few directions with Mundo. The transforming champions provide good stance characters, but I don't really have a preference on whichever one to be included in Project L, just because they all have a ranged and a melee form. Just pick the one that has the coolest character model in Maya or Blender or whatever they're using to 3D model their characters. I will hard disagree on Eve being a good rushdown, because her thing is silent assassination. You don't know where she is, and then she appears and one-shots you because she was running around invincible. I get that that could be a rushdown, but 1. the one-shotting is more reminiscent of a pixie character dealing a billion damage in 3 hits, and 2. She's actually quite slow in game, relying on her invisibility to get close. Invisibility is never fun in fighting games, least of all because of the camera changing focal length to include both point characters at a time, meaning it's easier to guess where she is. You'd really need a character with at least one dash to be your rushdown character. Personally hinging more on Fiora, but take your pick, God knows we're only getting more champs with high mobility. GP is lot of fun because of his resource management in his barrels and setplay (Why yes, I AM a Beerus main, how could you tell), and it'd have a high skill ceiling, much like GP in LoL. Irelia is a perfect example of a rushdown character that wouldn't be a pixie. I can't see how Vi's abilities would be added to Project L in a meaningful way except her E. I'm excited to see if and how they manage her, whether it'll just be "She have big fist she punch hard" or something different. There's generally very little CC in most FGs (except in setplay characters, there we are again WAHOO I LOVE INSANE PRESSURE SETUPS), and Vi's most defining abilities are her punches that CC. I've mentioned my argument for Zed, but now I'm going to also vouch for Kennen. I'm seeing him as a massive anchor to your team. I know that team structure for 2v2 team games is different from 3v3, but Kennen could really fulfill the anchor niche by spending all the meter their battery built up to do stun-loops with his lightning (I know, I know "There's generally very little CC in most FGs" and here I am talking about stun loops. I get the irony). I wouldn't expect him to be excellent at building meter or doing combos/damage without it, but the one thing I know about Kennen is that his ultimate is JUICED in LoL. Make him an anchor please. Ooh, I forgot about Gnar as a transformation character. Toss him in the pool with the others imo, even though I think he's a cool guy and would be rad to hang out with irl. I don't want to just rank all the hypercarries in LoL as anchor characters, but that'd likely be the niche they fulfill. Not entirely sure about how to solve that issue. I'd be more inclined to choose Pyke over Thresh because Thresh is really cool, but he's doesn't have the same agency that Pyke does. If you play a character without agency, sometimes you feel like you're trying to slam your head through a concrete wall because you're outplaying them, just never dealing any damage. For true control mages, I've given my takes on how to make them, but most of them will end up doing similar stuff at similar ranges than before. My choice though? Orianna. Why's that? Because she's a SETPLAY CHARACTER LET'S GOOO RIOT MAKE PROJECT L AS UNAPPROACHABLE AS POSSIBLE FOR NEW PLAYERS.

Very vindictive guide that sort of confirmed my own feelings about how it feels to play her. Not many guides go about teaching in this way, where it’s more about being more efficient in the basics over giving 10 combos that kind of all do the same thing. Great job on the vid dawg👏🏾

Not sure if I missed this but you definitely should've talked about her instant aerial special in kagura stance(Jump-ex back special). It very easy to do and very useful. Only option pll really have is dp or super. If they do anything else it's free dmg and if they block it, it still your turn since it has plus frames.

Ty for the guide! I think I'm okay with her being harder to play for two reasons; 1. She's hard to play for sure but honestly not as hard as I expected. She's not EXTREMELY hard, you know? 2. I like being able to adapt. I don't want my character to feel weak against certain archetypes or characters. I hate "unfair" matchups!

A really good job, I’d say with some of the sounds like the explosion and bullet especially when they’re one after the other you want to vary them a bit so they don’t sound the exact same, and I’d say had a limiter on it so that the sounds don’t get too loud but apart from that it’s really good, well done!
