I never heard of her until about 2 weeks ago. With her met debut and live in HD on May 11. I started to do some investigating. O. M. G. I am absolutely stunned by this woman!! Amazing. Why did it take so long for an American to find her?! I’ve now spent countless hours on RU-vid watching her amazing artistry!
Wow, that was really horribly sung (though brilliantly acted). Maybe she wasn’t feeling well. Her performance of the role in Salzburg a year or two ago was an absolute triumph.
Talvez a maior cantora lírica brasileira. Espetacular na Maria Tudor de Carlos Gomes com a Opera de Sofia. Aquela ária da Vendeta. É pena que o nível de nossas Emissoras seja muito baixo. Até reclamam da Introdução da abertura do Guarani na Voz do Brasil.
If there were copyrights in the 18th century like today, A.Mozart would be in court every day! But it is a taboo subject and in the 21st century, the myth of A.M. Misilveček's oratorio "Abramo ed Isacco" in 1776, attributed to A.Mozart. "His"(?), "La Betulia Liberata" in 1771, is now widely performed; Since the authorship of the opera "La Finta Semplice" was challenged in Vienna in 1769, in order to prevent a scandal, father and son went on a tour of Italy. A.Mozart came to the opportunity to learn the trade from Misliveček. He copied Misliveček's notes and thus learned to compose; hence Mozart's handwritten oratorio "Abramo ed Isacco" (from his legacy). The only mention of "Batulia" is a letter from Leopold Mozart dated March 1771, "he has also been commissioned to compose an oratorio for Padua...". Mozart did not send "Batulia" to Padua! In fact, the Mozarts never returned to Padua after Milan in December 1771. "Betulia" was performed in 1772, in Padua - the composer of the music was NOT Mozart, but Giuseppe Callegari. Epilogue - "Betulia" was not performed during Mozart's lifetime. A.Mozart did not let "Batulia" be performed in the "Tonkunstler-Societat" - a society to help musicians founded by Gassmann in Vienna in 1771; known for its performances of oratorios. Even the widow Constance, who had such financial problems, did not sell the written (unperformed) oratorio "Batulije"! Since that one copy was written By Mozart's hand, it must be his oratorio; and Misliveček's oratorio "La Batulija Liberata" from 1771 is LOST anyway(!)
Just back home from her Paris concert. Disastrous. Very small volume trying to sing Salome. Barely audible . She has only two arias and she is looking at her iPad for the lyrics all the time. Oh and she is wearing a pair of sunglasses through the whole performance in Philharmonie de Paris!!. If you want to make sure nobody is looking at your eyes, you might need to choose another career path instead of being an opera singer. So disrespectful and unprofessional. And she doesn’t even have the talent and charisma for people to tolerate her unprofessional behavior. What a mediocre “star” created by all these promotions by her agent. thanks to all the recording technology made her sound big and interesting by sound balancing and remastering adjustment. She is Nothing like this in a real music hall.
