Whereabouts in Louisiana are you? I spent every summer as a kid visiting family in Pine Prarie, near Ville Platte and Mamou. We live in south east Texas and your river waters there look a lot like ours around here.
Nice video brother. Question: I used to white perch fish down around Hebert on the Boeff in the 90s through 2005, before I moved to Arkansas. I would do really good March-June but I went a couple years ago during peak spawn in April and I caught nothing. I’d usually catch 30-40 a day. Was there a massive white perch die off or something, and if so, have they made a comeback?
Thank you and I’m not sure if there was a few years ago or not but I know some people were catching them good this year and the year before. I’m not sure if the big flood we had in 2016 messed them up that year. I know the river got crazy high and it could have messed their spawn up that year I believe it was the end of march when that happened.
@@DUSTINSANCHEZ97 thanks. I miss fishing down there. My in laws lived right on the river in Hebert by the 561 bridge. We lived over in Corey/Riverton. I fish lake Ouachita nowadays but it’s deep and clear. Hard to fish
Awesome Dustin!! Great video my friend! I make fishing videos as well so it's really fun to watch your videos and I really enjoy them!! I've gotta get out and make a bass fishing video myself!! Keep up the great work!! 💪🤝
Great video Dustin! Nice spot and nice bass! I love making fishing videos as well and just want to say that I really enjoy your content! Keep up the good work!! 💪💪🎣🎣
My name is Thomas LaBeff. My 5th-great-grandfather, Charles Hyacinthe Leboeuf, was a French Trapper along the Ouachita which the Boeuf River is a tributary of. I believe it was named after him. It was also an eye opener to how my name got Anglonized when I found out people that don't know Frencb pronounce it Beff instead of Buff. Thanks for the video,
Ok thanks do you know if this part or hwy 20 part of this river has a good bluegill an catfish population my pops from there im from California i never been to Louisiana looking forward to coming there to see my pops an to see how the fishing is
@@2sidescrazykennel173 yes both parts do it’s not that deep though! Me and my dad used to fish behind the golf course by I20 and catch a lot of catfish. River is low right now as long as a big rain doesn’t come it will be good fishing
Another good video! I’ve never been up nearly that far. You need to get you a little chainsaw, that would open up a ton more of water for y’all. Keep up the good work!
I’ve fished a tournament there in February and March the last 2 years. In the February tournament one took 22lbs but and the other took 17lbs. I would say a spring tournament would be somewhere between 15-20lbs. There was two 10 pounders caught there last year in back to back weekends.
Boeuf’s my favorite place to fish. I always put in down around Hebert and run back north. Best trip I caught 49 out of one spot. Love that little river. BTW very good video!
@@DUSTINSANCHEZ97 it’s different. There’s nowhere on the entire lake you can fish the bank. It get taken over bad with Lilly pads and grass. Very hard to fish. 6 to 8 foot crankbaits around cypress trees, wobbleheads in the hot of summer and jigs most any time around trees.
