So the bees don't need the honey. I have always wondered if taking the honey and the comb affects them. I am trying to learn as much as possible because I want to get into bee keeping in about 2-3 years after I have my other business up and running 😊❤
@@uniquelybird honey bees are the only bees which make honey to excess through their natural desire for replication/ swarming, leaving the old hive with enough honey to start over whilst the swarm sets up a new. In managing the bees we give artifical swarms and always leave them with enough honey. We are effectively honey managers as much as beekeepers
Not stealing, the wax is a by product of both honey extraction, and mostly from rendering old combs which if they weren't rendered down would harbour pathogens and disease. Its part of good beekeeping practice to melt down old combs and renew frames regularly to keep the wax the bees are working on fresh
All on a case by case basis, the issue with shipping so far for us is mainly the cost, but we are happy to quote for it, and will also depend on customs and carriers depending on which products etc.
Sorry it’s the taste that changes, pasteurised honey ( to me anyway ) is like eating honey when you have a cold. This raw honey has a much better flavour and the fewer things done to it the better. This family cares for their bees and the honey is direct from the family farm. Try the two sorts together and see for yourself which tastes the best. The soft set honey is delicious btw.😊
Why do so many people fear pasteurization? Unless you're fermenting and wanting to use wild yeast cultures there's no reason to use raw honey. Pasteurization has a minimal effect on taste and cleans the product it's a good thing.
Well if the bees didn't think it was worth the effort to keep making new comb for the hive when their comb "disappears" they would just leave and make a new hive somewhere else where the comb won't "disappear", bees can and will just leave if they dislike their conditions. And I assume it's worth it for the people if they're selling enough
Great, really looking forward to more videos, explanations and walk rounds. So far I’ve had both the soft set honey’s and they are fantastic. A spoonful a day keeps lots of horrible things away! Also honey and lemon in hot water for coughs and colds. All the best, Gill A. xx
