Europeans tend to be more open minded than USA Americans. I feel very European trapped in an USA American body lmao. Maybe cause I was influenced by European Art and Film and music growing up -in the USA.

I watched the whole documentary of this band from Iraq, they are legit! They struggle a lot just to keep their band together in a country where you can be dead any time, at that time these dudes went literally underground to be able to play heavy metal. I have massive respect for these guys! James just paid some real tribute to these guys and it makes me very proud as I am an old school metal head!!

Leao, Osihmen, Kvara, Chiesa, Barella, Theo Hernández, Lautaro, Dybala, etc..

I mean honestly my reaction would be pretty close to the same if James Hetfield walked up to me, handed me a guitar, autographed it and said “here you go, it’s yours”. And if anyone deserves that gift, it’s these guys for sure!

This isn’t really insane, extreme or unbearable to listen to. It’s “heavy metal” or “metal” not Extreme metal and it’s sub genres. I don’t know why especially back then the media and outlets acted like this was Extreme, insane, unbearable music… like it’s shocking. This old man was proabaly in his 30’s or 40’s when metal or “heavy metal” came out.

The expression on James' and Lars' face when the guy mentions the lukewarm response to Death Magnetic and asks the band what they think about some critics saying that it doesn't really follow from the old albums, which obviously meant that it wasn't as good as their first 4 or even 5 albums, is priceless, and even more so because the cameras started flashing at their faces exactly at the right moment. 😂 It looked like all their confidence that they've finally made a truly great album (that even all the old school fans would like) flew out of the window... In all honesty, nothing they did after The Black Album comes close to their classic stuff, and Death Magnetic, which sounds like the band tried in vain to sound like they did in the 80's, and has crappy production that makes the whole thing sound like a cow fart, and pathetic lyrics like "What don't kill you makes you more strong" repeated over and over again in one of the songs, or the "original" song titles like The Unforgiven III, was yet another misstep in their career; still not as bad as St. Anger, though, as there are some good moments on it despite its overall awkwardness - it is more like Load quality-wise, which means it's slightly better than ReLoad, and also better than St. Anger, ofc, but that's about it (I heard that even Jason Newsted said "It's better than St. Anger" when he was asked about his thoughts on the album, which indicated that he wasn't too impressed by it). Anyway, back to the vid, so, Kirk was sitting there still, like he was in disbelief hearing the talk about the not-so-great album response coming up, while Robert looked like he was thinking: "Maybe there's a point in there, but I'd rather not say anything, and I don't know what to say anyway", and James was so pissed that he didn't even hear the next question from another guy. 😂 Lars, who usually has an answer to everything, was awfully quiet during those moments and he looked like traces of past trauma caused by harsh criticism of their music from 1996 onward, which he thought he got finally rid of, started to creep into his head (again) - he was obviously caught off guard as he probably never imagined that someone would think that they failed again, especially since they were on a mission to capture their 80's sound on Death Magnetic and please their old school fans... Poor fellas, but it was quite funny - even the guy who brought it up smiled when he saw their response, or lack of thereof. 😁 And the question from the young lady about Jason, who was the best thing that happened to Metallica (but never appreciated by them) after Cliff died, and how evident it is that many fans still like and miss him, infuriated James, so he changed the topic and started to talk about how amazing it is that the band is still relevant, and how the new album is doing great, and how this is a celebration and stuff, while he looked like he was burning inside (which already started happening the moment that guy mentioned the lukewarm response to mediocre Death Magnetic), desperately trying to hold it together as best as he could to look as cool and professional as possible. Hilarious stuff. 😆
