This flight is a bit of a godsend… A direct flight to the Pacific Rim from the Inland Empire. You get to avoid LAX and still get to a major East Asian hub with easy connections to Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc etc

Thanks for this review. I appreciate you uploading it as in my humble opinion the ground experience wasn’t a true first class experience except for the lounge. Based on your video, I would use my points to fly Swiss in business class, so a very helpful video for me! Bravo

Nice trip report, love your engine view. I'm not a fan of this old 2-2-2 business class seat. It is comfortable, but there are much better seats out there

Very nice!!😊 The First Class Cabin Suites are soo nice to have and fly yhose long-haul flights. Started you out with a glass of champagne is always nice!!😊😊 Using your mileage points is always a nice treat to fly First Class.
Air France will not have first and real business soon due to their politics of economy : they removed the A380 because it was not economic enough : this is the culture of the company to decrease the level of customer comfort for economy purposes
Air France will reveal new First Class cabin at the end of the year. The airline has already improved its high-level ground service at Paris-CDG such as private suites
Thank you for a comprehensive and excellent blog! When flying West to Asia I always try to snag a daylight flight and upon arrival don't have to force myself to stay up for a full day... but! it can be just as hard to force yourself to sleep... jet lag is jet lag. Food on CA tends to be a bit fatty but it looks like they have improved their offerings. Impressive convenience from Ontario & great cabin!
for flights from west coast of the US to East Asia I tend to book the night flight so I can get full sleep on the plane (especially if I fly business class) and then I can just stay up the whole day. If have to take the day flight I can just take a quick nap and then I only have to stay up for a couple of hours and then I can fall asleep. On the way back there is no good flight choice.
I would love the experience of flying first class on an airline,it may not be regular but by getting once in a lifetime joy of doing it,will be a treasured moment,also I never knew it have all those amenities on board the A380 ,just wonderful, hope to see u on your next trip.
I live about 20 minutes south of Ontario International Airport in California, and this airport is the best thing in the Inland Empire! I frequently fly out of Ontario airport on domestic flights but beginning in 2023, I started flying to Bangkok Thailand on China Airlines out of Ontario. Before China Airlines made its presence at Ontario Airport, I had to make that grueling one hour to two hour commute from the Inland Empire to LAX! In addition, I had to burden a family member or friend for a ride to LAX because a taxi or Uber was way too expensive. Now, I can take a 20 minute LYFT or UBER to Ontario Airport! Coming back to Ontario Airport is a breeze because normally China Airlines is the only flight at US Customs and Immigration in Ontario. I hope other international carriers will follow China Airlines' lead and offer flights to Europe and Asia from Ontario Airport.

I was on this flight before the pandemic. The first class suite is magnificent that has everything you want. The seat can be wider and it feels small when you closed the door but very private! All you can eat caviar with Dom Perignon champagne is really great combination! The first class lounge in Dubai is the best, just like a Michelin restaurant! At US$21500 round trip is a little pricey but worthy every penny! The bathroom with shower is huge. If you are a cognac drinker, you will love the Paradis cognac that is US$1250 at the airport duty free store. Unfortunately Emirates don’t fly from LA to Asia cities! 😅
Thanks for your comment, only American Airlines propose first class on board. but honestly AA first class is not a good product. for Asia to LA you have Only Japan or Cathay with a first class product on board ( and AA lol).
