@@jamesmorleyxcello i believe in freedom, first thing came to my brain, natural feeling I express that, you have good skills tho I love classical music and new music until+- Hindemith, This is pseudo art for me, pretending that is good and unique, but it's not a sport- it's just an opinion
@@jonatankaszkowiak thanks for taking the time to clarify your thoughts - the two things I would reply with are 1) if you believe in freedom you should be able to let music like this happen without attempting to impede it (otherwise I wonder why you would comment something so harsh and unprovoked in the first place) and 2) I would recommend you challenge yourself to start listening to all music differently. As you can see from my channel I love and often play very classical music. By playing experimental new music I am not trying to achieve the same thing as I am with classical music. Our ears and brains deserve more than just ‘pleasant’ music all the time, and I think there is a great beauty/tragedy/universality in making sense of challenging sounds and ideas. I’ve obviously heard comments like yours many many times, and the insecurity they bleed is what maintains my commitment to attempt to enrich the validity of the practices of myself and others. Because it is worth it! It’s not worth believing that classical music is all we need. I hope my thoughts encourage you to go think/listen/read about these ideas and appreciate the astounding work of many composers and artists since Hindemith. Otherwise, I hope you can enjoy my other videos of me playing Bach and other classical composers who you might enjoy more :)
hey..really superb! My son plays violin between lots of maths at home .. great performances like this really help us get through these silly times. Imagine the joy of putting oil paint to canvas, after youve had to grind the pigments by hand ... its amazing how our ancestors created such beautiful things, like the instrument itself, and the music .. its humbling, and inspiring. Thankyou, thankyou. I look forward to being able to sneak into anam and listen to live music .. it is a guilty pleasure, a very human thing.. all the more valuable that it has been denied us for a time.
thanks so much for your kind words! wouldn't know how to navigate these times without my cello handy..! I look forward to seeing you and your son at some future ANAM concerts!
