It is not seen as part of the NEC for three reasons - AMTRAK owns none of it (it is owned by NS); it is not electrified - and as much as AMTRAK uses it, it is still primarily a freight corridor.
Really glad you got the train lights in the vid. Especially as the train rounds the corner. Actually, I like the city slum shots because we used to hang around the train tracks in the city. Even ventured into the tunnels a couple of times. Gives me chills to think about it.
I don’t understand the 6 thumbs down rating. Jealousy? Or one of “those kind” that don’t watch videos they just give them thumbs down because they’re a-holes without a life.
First double-stack intermodal train. Until the M St. tunnel in DC was rebuilt, the clearance was too low to accommodate any car over 17'3" in height. The EPIX double-stack garbage cars were the tallest cars that could fit, and if the canvas covers caught the wind and flapped up they would trigger the high car detector (I was a CSX engineer/conductor on the RF&P and had to deal with that more than once). They would also never run auto racks on the RF&P sub for the same reason.
