This is my favorite thing to watch on RU-vid! I love the music, it's calming and reflective. Do you have any vintage photos of New Orleans and Louisiana? I was born and raised in New Orleans and loved the cultural diversity and architecture.
39 years in Portland and can still name every street crossing VNB from Oxnard to Sherman way. Lived on Friar St 2 blocks east. Many good years there cruising.
In the first photo with the ladies in shorts there is a car to the left with one wheel on the sidewalk and what looks like a fire hydrant just to the left of the car. No ticket on the windshield maybe because he has a tag number of 307.
1:15 Time. ....please, read your FARM ANIMAL BOOKS ! ......that, is A HORSE not a ' mule '. UNinformed, UNeducated, phone-addicts. ....perhaps, you CAN'T read.
The photo is reminiscent of the period when the Queen began to perform her role. Anyway, it made me reflect on how a king has to regulate his personal life and work. It is interesting to see the contrast between her personal image and her public work.
Thanks for your hard work on the photos. It makes me forget a hard work day and all of the news in our 2024 world. It's calming even helping get to sleep.
Although I don't see photos having such a strong impact, I understand why many people feel more relaxed when looking at photos. Perhaps for some people, this really works. Everyone has their own way of finding peace.
For young people alive today, each had 128 direct descendents alive in 1875 the age of the oldest people in the photographs of that time, not forgetting the 'supporting cast of other family members and look how hard it was for most of them-and we think we have problems! If you go further back to 1750, just10 years before the civil war there would be 4100 their parents age alive their direct descendants....!
A soldier's face after four years of war at 3:07. Edivence that war is hell. Do you want this to happen to your son? At least he lived through it. Killing is a crime, war has to stop. If someone declares war, let him or her go fight it. Leave our young sons alone.
Thank you for these rare glimpses into life before the chaos of the Information Era. Born in NYC in 1951, I found the old New York photographs especially interesting. Wonderful video.
Those Statue of Liberty pictures reminded me of my father who lived in America whilst working on nuclear Thor weapons during the Cold War. He had pictures of himself in the torch in the raised arm of the statue as well as the head crown. I don’t think you can go in those places now. Thanks for posting the pictures.
