Thomas Hähnlein is a jazz-saxophonist, composer & educator based in Berlin. He was inspired by the recordings of legendary saxophonist Michael Brecker to pursue a career in jazz. After graduating from his jazz studies at the Conservatory of Music in Würzburg under renowned tutor Hubert Winter, he continued his studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where he took lessons with esteemed mentors like Dick Oatts, Jasper Blom and Ben van Gelder. From 2022 to 2023, Thomas took lessons with legendary jazz saxophonist Dave Liebman.
Thomas has earned numerous accolades, including first prize at the Wayne Shorter Competition (Conservatory of Music Würzburg) and performs in a wide range of ensembles and styles. His live performances have taken him to prominent venues and festivals, including Bimhuis Amsterdam, FatJazz Hamburg and B-flat Berlin.
