Who would have though, someone 7 years from now would buy a used Jam from Reverb and find this such an underrated and useful tutorial. Why NI snuffed this product is beyond me.
When I hit "Select", the interface leaves the pattern mode and goes into pad mode, and I cannot select any of the notes in the pattern... Machine must have broken this on their version update that added ideas mode.. Time to sell this thing... It used to work like a dream, now it's unusable since their "update"... That's the worst thing about a controller like this, when they do a SW update that changes the fundamental behavior, they basically destroy all the work one puts into learning it to begin with...

Yes. Set the main output as headphones and your secondary output to speakers. You can then route all tracks to your speakers and use the "cue" feature in outputs to audition a track before audience hears it too.
These Maschines are sold second hand "without" the Software. With no Software how can you use it? When you see the price of the software the purchase of one of these becomes prohibiting.
hi, how did you turn on the maschine jam? have been trying to connect mine to macbook air, but it couldn't work, it only last for one second then all the lights went off. Do I need a usb hub that comes with a power supply to turn this machine on? Is there any specific volt / watt required from the adapter?
Hi, any chance you could give some pointers on the drum pattern. I have the base drum on 1, 5, 9, 13, 16. Snare and Hand Clap on 5 and 9 and then really struggling with the open high hat and closed high hat.
