Hey man thx for great videos, thinking to buy the 695 as well, question is if you can let her in the water over winter or if it is crucial to take her out? Im in switzerland, also cold winters but lake of zurich does not freeze.. happy booting 😊
Hey, thx for the comment, well appreciated 🤙 We can't leave ours here in Canada cause the water freezes, but I do see lots of my UK friends keeping there's in the water. Perhaps someone else who reads these comments can weigh in if you leave your boat in the water in cold temps.
Hey Andy, it depends on who you ask. For me, it's the best thing ever, but my wife is a princess and needs her bed at home :-). Overnight or weekends in Marinas with the family is fun as you have the amenities of the marina. I often overnight alone at anchor and really enjoy that. It's a little camper on the water...love it. Cheers 🤙
Great question :-) we are fortunate enough since last summer to have our boat docked right in front of the house. So, we try to go for a quick ride almost every day. Or I do anyway :-) Our season starts in late april and goes to mid-October. May and October are cooler months off course, but as you know, these boats are great when the weather is not so great.
Hey Flint, we are french Canadians(Acadians), speaking a mix of French and English (called chiac). We speak french at home but do the videos mainly in English for everyone. Where are you from?
Thank you, much appreciated. I have the 695 Sport (same hull as yours) They fitted mine with 18 and 14 1/4 I think that mine is the wrong prop I will find out in the spring as I didn’t receive my boat until October 😕
Sure is... we're totally enjoying having the boat right at home. There is still lots of work to be done around the new house, but we will do that after boating season :-) 🤙
Hi. Thanks for your vids. Helped me a lot to make my decision. I own now a brand new MF 695 with a Mercury 150 hp. I do have two major issues. No. 1 the starboard window is somewhere untight. Rain is come in the boat between the window and the lower sealing, it is impossible to find the leak. I contacted the dealer and the MF will go there for repair in a few days. Issue no. 2 is that there is a strong fuel smell in the cabin after leaving the boat in the berth overnight. I checked all areas of the boat and opened all service hatches but cannot find any residues of gasoline. Did you have also fuel smell in your cabin? I have also complained about this, they will check it together with the leaking window. I am bit disappointed although this boat makes really fun. Greetings from Switzerland. Gerd.
Hey Gerd, I'm really glad our videos helped you. Luckily, I did not have any major issues or gas smell. I did, however, realise over the years that new boats always come with various little issues. Some need to be fixed by the dealer, and other, you simply need to bite the bulet and do it yourself in order o get it resolved quickly and to your standards. Don't be too disappointed. This boat will bring you plenty of joy for years to come...simply work at getting those issues fixed and have fun. Cheers bud 🤙
In the process of buying a 2019 NC 695 with Yamaha 150hp outboard. Would be cool to get your advice on towing, putting in, taking out, securing on the trailer, etc.
Hey Richard, that is awesome... you can reach out to me via IG at yvanlaviolette or chasingsunsets71 and I will be happy to answer your questions. Cheers 🤙
Thanks bud, we really love having our boat right at home :-) Hope you get to enjoy yours just as much. Where is home port for you? We should have another video out in the next week or two. Cheers 🤙
Another nice and good video. you guys are the reason i this year bought a brand new 695 150HP Yamaha. I love the boat and hope to have good trips like you have, Alex
@ChasingSunsets I am originally from Denmark. But I own a plastic factory in Bangkok Thailand. The boats port is Juelsminde Denmark. In 10 days I will go summer holliday in Europe. Road trip Austria - italy- switzerland 10 days And sailing the boat on and off for 3 weeks. Can't wait...
It actually sounds louder on the video than in reality. Or perhaps I am getting used to it, but no dought that every time I close the door, it makes it nice and quiet.
A great video guys! Came across you when searching for sea trials for various fishers I'm interested in - and just loved to see you and your family enjoying it to the full! Less sunshine and blue sea here in the UK, but we have our moments, Thanks and keep posting.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, Philip, and sorry for the late reply. We are loving our Merry Fisher, awesome boat for the family. Whishing lots of sunshine this summer 👊
Hey Jack, tks brother, we are all moved in. Ordered our new docks and will be lucky enough have the boat right in front of the house this summer. More video or short clips to follow :-)
Thanks Jack, apprecite you checking in... we've been busy building our new home and just moved in a few weeks ago. It is a waterfront property, so our 695 will be nested just in front. Hopefully, more videos will come now that we are getting settled in. 🤙
Love it. I am looking at buying one soon, but maybe you can help with a towing question. My 23 bmw x5 xdrive 40i has a towing capacity of 7200 lbs / 3265 kg. Do you think the BMW be able to tow a 695 merry fisher ?
No problem at all with the X5. I towed it with the Mercedes GLE, which is the equivalent to the X5 barely felt it. Feel free to follow me on Instagram @yvanlaviolette if you have more questions.
Nice place, You mentioned water sports, any good for that? I Water-ski, will need to tow me at around 36mph and pull em out on a mono. Wha t do you thing?
Loving the very poetic / cinematographic drone shot from 8:28 to 9:18.
Hey Mark, I beleive we got these chairs at Costco but I will have a look at the tag on the chair the next time I am in the boat. Thanks for watching our little adventures. Boston is awesome 🤙👊
Hey hey, tks for the message. All is really good and have tones of footage. Will need to take time to share again. Lots of good news ahead with new home in construction that will be better suited for the lifestyle ;-)
@@ChasingSunsets Wow I'm so pleased to hear that... Congratulations on a new house!!! I got good news to for the past 7 months I've been a proud owner off new Merry Fisher 795 s2 we absolutely love every moment of it but I still wanna watch your video's 🤣🤣🤣 it is just beautiful part of the world Cheers mate from Melbourne Australia
Thanks and big congrats on your 795, we almost upgraded to a 795 as well, but not the right timming when building a new home 🤣. Cheers mate and keep an eye out for a new video.
I have the exact same boat - it will do 35 knots with a following tide and wind, but remember that you are burning over 20 litres of fuel an hour at that speed...... 5-7 knots is the most fuel-efficient speed.
Hi Gary, happy to see your message has we posted our videos to share some fun adventures on the water. Be sure to connect with us on IG at ChasingSunsets71 and send us some pics of your 695 when you get it. Cheers, Yvan, Anne & Océane. 🤙
Hey Martin, all questions are good my friend. This spot is great, water goes to approximately 6 or 7 feet deep at the stern. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have other questions.
Lol thanks Phil, sometimes, it's the little things that make us laugh and getting on the boat is always one of them. Thanks for watching and subscribing, we will have new videos this winter as I took lots of footage this summer.
