Yes it is. Like I said it is a rod for the above average angler. Made with the highest quality material made for longevity and efficiency. Only a small price to pay for such a high-quality rod. If you look at any other higher end line of rods they are all around this price

What I like about it is it's one of the thinnest Heavy action rods I've ever had. I have a St. Croix Musky rod that's the same specs and it's much thicker, which causes a lot of difficulty in the casting area for me.
Don't stop fishing till your bait is out of the water. You would be surprised at how many fish try and grab it at the boat, dock, or even the bank. Nice catches.

That's actually a good question. Lake trout change depths rapidly anywhere from over 100 ft to the surface so in order to combat the potential for swollen swim bladders, lake trout have the ability to "burp" which allows them to rapidly change water pressure and not feel those adverse affects
