Welcome to the story of a California born and raised family, that left the comforts of everything they'd ever known, and headed East to hit the reset button and settle in East Tennessee, finding the happiness and life that fit our family desires.

Hello! I haven't been here in a while, but notice you have been absent from RU-vid. I hope you and your family all made out well after this catastrophic hurricane Helene. 🌀 So much devastation.
My great great great grandfather was John Andrew Abbott from Townsend, Blount County. He served with the 6 Tenn Infantry. I'm born and raised in S.C. but my maternal grandmother's folks were from TN and NC. Proud to be his GGG Grandson.
What up Hoag! American Contingency and Tri-Start Training Group will be there this year. Excited to drop by, support the community, looking forward to meeting you.
In Alabama and Mississippi, we actually call them "String Beans". Two to three generations would sit out on the porch and string them, i.e. destring them. I remember sitting on my grandmother's porch with her, my mother, an aunt and myself doing just that. And, though not mentioned, also shelling Purple Hull Peas. Regretfully, these intimate southern gatherings for the purpose of feeding the family through the winter are all but gone now. I do dearly miss those days and the wise ladies I had the privilege to sit and chat with.
Welcome to Tennessee I have been to California more times than i can count over the last 25yrs i wouldnt move there and pretty sure i wont visit anymore either theres just no place like east Tennessee
You Didn't Happen to Find Anything "Strange" or "Out of Place" on the Shelves or Maybe Behind the Main Counter? Considering That Used to be the "CUPID'S ADULT SEX TOY SUPERSTORE" Til Just Recently - Always Visible Off I-40 hehehehehehehe
Regarding homelessness, considering your frustration with where to put homeless people. Your reaction is still thinking like a Californian. Being from Indiana, moving to California in the 90’s and deciding to leave, I don’t find it my responsibility to house someone who has made multiple life choices that has brought them to this point. And if they don’t have anyone to support them, that’s also attached to a set of choices.
Definitely cryotids in the smokies and all of Appalachia. Also in every other forest out there. Some think that's the real reason why these parks were created was to respect these things that been here...but who knows? Kinda weird there is so so so many people that have seen things.....
