As a former Lowrance proponent I would never go back to them again! Their customer service to assist buyers totally sucks! I now have Humminbird and am really happy with their support. Plus the unit quality is so much than that of their competitors. No disrespect to Garmin but definitely sell your Lowrance!
The two things that seem to get me the most Choppo bites are: 1- When I start it up the instant it hits the water without letting it sit. 2- Steady reel it, medium speed, and add occasional micro pauses during the retrieve. I’m talking stop reeling, but instantly start back. Like as soon as I stop the handle turn I start it back up. The majority of my Choppo bites come within two or three feet into the retrieve after the instant start, and right after what I’m calling the micro pause.
Some like a good schedule overall. Hope you have a great tournament season next year. May have to go over to smith mountain lake in Virginia with the Ranger 461vs and watch.
I’ve been using a spinning reel for my jerk baits and braid line,medium rod spent abit on the rod,drag is my only thought to keep ‘em hooked,will it be any better if I switch over my setup?

Only thing about the Humminbird’s chart compared to Garmin I don’t like is garmin my boat on screen isn’t centered, they put the boat at the bottom allowing more screen in the direction you are facing. Changing the orientation doesn’t change this
I understand that you want a reel that cast very well but the zenon reel is not built for heavy jerks. The revo reels is much more suitable for that. A revo rocket or revo sx rocket for example.

I’ll have to try it. I use a uni on light line, so the knot doesn’t go inside the eye of the hook. That knot would work great for that, and looks fast.

I used to run Garmin but it was before the 34 transducer. At that time I liked lowrance a lot better and have just stuck with it since then. I feel they are about equal. I don’t think you can go wrong either way.
Use two “O” rings, cross them over like a “X” and hook under where the “X” meets in the middle! Save your money instead of using those plastic geecrack pins!!
I fished a tournament 2 days ago and i was catching rhem on beds to on the southern end by honeycomb. Gerald swindle was to most guys were catching on the bait fish presentations or red craw colors. The wacky rig is still catching bed fish but bone white jack hammers white zako for a trailer caught a 7.6lb largie. The smallies and mean mouth and spots are feesing on bluff walls. Dropshots and jerkbaits work on em . Gman was even catching on beds on the same banks as me.
Do a old school off shore video. No forward facing sonar, no 360sonar, no spot lock. Lots of folks don't have all these toys. Show us how you would do it. Love and learn from your content. Thank you sir.
