Hi and Welcome to our Channel! We will provide travel information, reviews, and advice. We hope to share our travel knowledge and experiences with you. We will share information on distant tropical destinations like Mexico, as well as local information about our nearby Vancouver Island adventures. And have a laugh or two along the way.
Did you say the same to the people who own Xcaret, Tulum and many other areas around the jungle where are developing without care for the environment. Hyp0crite!
Thank you so much, but would you mind sharing the link? When I search that name it brings up a different unit.. not the one you stayed in… Appreciate the help 😊
Hi Sue Go on the ADO website for ticket prices. If you book a couple weeks in advance it is less. Some are direct some have stops. Prime Time is more expensive. We will be back Oct 30-April 1, so we may see you again 😎
Thanks for sharing guys. How much was the bus ride to Merida from Playa del Carmen? We are hoping to go for a visit next winter while we are there. Just booked our flights and accommodation in PM for Jan to March! Whoohoo!! Very much hoping to see you there. Take care
Hi Sue Just go on the ADO bus website. The buses are all different rates. They have direct buses and buses that stop along the way. And the buses are different prices depending on what time of day you go to. You’ll love it.
@@dartyadventures thank you for the advice on booking. You’ve given us so many ideas of where we’d like to visit. We’ll keep a look out for you next winter. 😊
Hey Guys, just realised this is your ‘home town’ - we are looking to spend 3-4nights by the beach before we head home ( end Jan’25 ) and thought PM would suit our low key pensioner 😅 style - we probably wont be able to afford this smart 4⭐ but would appreciate any advice on which end of the town to be and any good value (quiet area) rentals 🙏🏼 maybe catch a beer when we’re there too ….on us
Hi! Puerto Morelos is not very big so anywhere in town would be great. It’s a very walkable town. It’s not a party town and just about everything is shut down by 11. If you’re looking for a hotel the Fives is the “fancy one. Ojo De Agua is very popular and less expensive. They are not all inclusives. But there are so many great restaurants there. We’d love to meet up with you. Keep in touch.
Really Nice & Informative Video - We plan to take the Cancun to Merida route in Jan ‘25 so hope 🤞🤞 it’s no longer a locomotive pulled train - either way, has to be better than the bus - right. BTW trying to buy tkts in the website is 🤦♀️ - but guess you know that already. Concerned that ‘trying’ to buy tkts at the booth in thr airport in high season will be a nightmare 😱😱 so really hoping they get it together by then ……🙏🏼
Hi thanks for the nice comments. I agree it’s a struggle purchasing tickets but I will assume as it goes on the process will get easier, the staff will be better trained and the website will improves 😎
I'm not sure I like the cenotes in the caves . . . not so much. lol I heard saying you rented a car for the day, therefore you don't have a car? We won't have one either, that's something new to get used to. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, no we don’t have a car. We walk a lot or take the local colectivo and taxis. We rent a car when we want to go to an attraction that’s far away. Really looking forward to using the train next winter for longer trips like, Merida, Bacalar.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! We are looking at spending a month in Puerto this July. Any advice on car renal, agencies or cost expectations?
@@shellytaylor9500 HI Shelly. We usually just rent a friends car. But I know Ron Haugan rents cars and he has a good reputation. I think he charges about $800 pesos a day. You can find him on facebook
I agree with you and rather go on our own time. I don't like the feeling of being rushed. When I was looking at the food I was thinking . . . hmm don't like the looks of it too much. Thanks for sharing!
What a fun time! I can't wait to visit. We can probably visit in July once we have settle from the move. Great video. That water . . . love it. thanks for sharing!
This was great! We are movingin the next 2 months and everything we can learn ahead of time is a plus. We were there in November, but the taxi guy was rushing us, therefore hardly got to see anything. Btw, do you use that bank next to Chedraui? I've heard you can open an account and transfer from the states easily. Thanks!
Hi! Once you’re there go and take your time and look around. There are lots of great fruit stands throughout the town. We are Canadian and do not have a actual bank account in Mexico. I think you have to be a resident to open an account but not 100% sure on that. We do use the Wise card to pay rent, pay for groceries and withdraw pesos from the ATM. Good luck and maybe we’ll see you around town

Bar none. Best, barely off strip place to stay. Extremely clean, huge rooms, damn good food, especially for the price! And yeah, we like the more... laid back atmosphere! When ya want louder, faster, etc. Hit the strip! Thanks for the vid!
Why must there ALWAYS be music playing somewhere??? Why can't a person just enjoy the scenery and nature sounds (waves, birds, etc.) and pleasant conversation, or just plain silence???? I hope I win the lottery so I can buy an island, rent out nice rooms at a good price, and ban ALL MAN-MADE NOISE! UGH! 🤨😠
Hi. You can book tours through the hotel at the Dive It shop, but that would be a group tour. Or you can book a private tour with “Connecting Puerto Morelos”. Find them on Facebook. Have fun!
When doing videos concerning Tren Maya you should replace woo hoo with choo-choo. Thanks for the info. I assume from the train station in PM to the ADO terminal in PDC with ticketing and all spans over 1 1/2 hours?
Haha you are right…choochooooo 🎉 Yea this short ride took twice as long as just taking the colectivo. But once it runs at full speed it will be great for longer trips.
Really nice review! Looks very moder and pretty. I have never seen a train that nice in the US. You two covered this so well, thank you! I'm hoping Heather and I can take a long trip on it as I LOVE sleeping on trains. Thank you for this video. You rock
Si, hermosísimo... A 10 kms de Puerto Morelos.... Nadie en sus 5 sentidos lo va a ocupar como medio de transporte para sus trabajos..... Que ideota!!!!!😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Love your Videos. 🇲🇽We tour the Coba Ruins in 2017. Did the tour with an archaeologist, that was a retired professor at the University. He was very informative on the history and had so much knowledge on the Mayan culture. We would also recommend a guide. The massive pyramid was worth the climb to the top, it is breathtaking. Love the ruins, Mayan History and The Beautiful People. We cannot wait to visit Mexico 🇲🇽 next month.
@@dartyadventures We feel privilege we had the chance to climb Coba. We are looking forward to visiting Puerto Morelos in April for a month. Maybe see you and Marty around if you are still there. Thank you both for sharing your travel experiences.
Hi Sue! Actually we went on a Sunday and there were alot of people there. But we went early and this site is so spread out it doesn’t seem busy. And the bus tour groups only go to one section of the site. Thanks for watching!
Thank you Darlene and Marty for sharing your trip to Coba. The ruins looked beautiful nestled amongst the trees and you seemed to have picked a nice quiet day to visit.

10:14 March 20/24. The is such an informative video. Great job. 🎉. It’s appreciated when you mention how many times you’ve been to a country and that gives your viewers an real good idea on the opinion you have. Thank you ☺️
Hi Guys, been watching most of your videos and my wife and I are planning to go to Peurto Morelos area next January or February for two weeks. We want to check it out with the hope of wintering there when we retire in a couple of years. Can you tell me a good location on the colonial side to vacation for a couple of weeks so we can get a good feel for the place. Thanks in advance and keep the videos coming. 😊
Hi again guys, I actually found your video on finding a rental in Peurto Morelos and it answered many of my questions. Don't know how I missed that one.😂
HI! thanks for watching the video. You definitely want to stay in a gated complex so you have amenities like a pool. And you'll meet many other people around the pool. Some are locals, some are expats, and some are just on vacation. If it's just you and your wife coming, then I'd suggest El Faro or any of the Selva complexes. They are mostly 2 bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms. Stay away from the Alborado complex. Good luck!. Maybe we'll see you around next year.
@@dartyadventures Thanks for the input. Are you guys finding that it is harder to get a rental there due to the fact that many people are finding out about the place? Are you noticing more and more expats moving there and rental prices increasing? Appreciate you taking the time to respond to me.
I have seen the prices go up a lot on rentals in the last 2 years. Many have increased several hundreds of dollars a month. It not as inexpensive as it used to be. @@douglinehan1824
Hi! Walk back to the highway by the overpass. Look left and you’ll see a bus stop/shelter. The colectivo or playa Express bus will stop there. Thanks for watching
Hi. Cataract surgery is covered but only for a single vision lens. You have to pay extra for an enhanced lens. So I would have paid $7000 for an enhanced lens in Canada. But as I explained in my previous video, the doctors did not want to do my eyes until they were much worse. Basically once you can’t see they will put you on a wait list for surgery Thanks for watching
Great video and very informative. I went there yesterday to check it out. I wish I had seen the video first. Lol. I would like to see a mall with no chain stores from corporate America. Maybe a good place to take young visitors on a rainy day.
Thanks for the video guys. I didn’t see a final shot with all the bags of shopping you did though 😉. That is an amazing place. Once the whole place is open it will be quite something. Gonna try the go-carts hopefully this week before we head back to B.C. We really enjoyed the chinese food in the food court.
Hi. We usually leave mexico with some pesos, so we have some when we return. If you dont have any you can order them from your bank. Once we arrive we go the ATM and withdraw pesos. Thanks for watching
