They do work the crap out of the cooks 😂 they gota get their moneys worth for 19hr every panda only has 2 cooks in kitchen. and mngrs have absolutely no leadership, and zero opportunity to grow unless you are brainless and do exactly what your told and get the entire team to hate ur guts
I'm currently working at panda and honestly it's alright. For us we have around 3-4 cooks but I think our main problem is just the space we have. It's also a pain when you have so many online orders and customers at the same time bc you don't know who's focusing on what and just lose track
Strict when it comes to cashiers and no real employee team based help. And are made to kiss upper managements ass before they arrive such as cleaning sidewalks outside so there’s no gum. Only work here if you’re not at school and no family. Only good thing is the money.
I lasted two shifts.. if you're not a teen do not even apply. Fast pace, long periods of standing on tile floor, teen coworkers that love life way too much.. the thing that got me the most though was the fact that they don't offer free food to workers yet throw out literally close to 100 pounds of cooked food daily. Hate seeing the waste. Canes could provide free meals to multiple families each day but instead throws food out labeled as "waste bird".... horrible.
@@zackgalligan1138i work at raising canes. im quitting two days after writing this comment. 1. inconsistent/poor scheduling. I am either scheduled my max availability or once a week for 3 hours. im constantly asked to stay late and come in on unscheduled days. 2. constantly slippery floors. yes, this is a given for all places, but my canes is always slippery. ive tried three different pairs of non slip shoes and ive always slipped around (never fell). 3. physically & mentally demanding. i am always on the move and i could literally fall asleep after clocking out. i use to work 80 hours at an old job because it was demanding but fair. canes is literally constant work with no break. it can also be extremely mind numbing. i zone out so much because i’m constantly doing the same thing for 5+ hours. we also have to yell out different things constantly and it gets tiring, especially when the music is way too loud. 4. no free food. buckets and buckets and buckets totaling at least 50 pounds of food gets thrown away because it’s “too old” (chicken valid for 6 minutes, fries & toast 3 minutes) or “too small/bad shape”. employees are only given a discount. we weigh the waste and it’s always 20 pound minimum each time. morning shifts are ok. opening-11am are chill but it picks up and is constantly busy into the night.
i really want to work there. i have an interview tomorrow and i will update if i got the job when i know and say how it went. i got the job, they were super nice and helpful. it's my first job so they're starting me off with $15 an hour
@@enriquemejia458 - “tell me a little about yourself and your hobbies” - “when are you available to work” i was also asked how much i wanted to get paid starting off, and about previous job experience
Bruh when i asked for what size of the shirt i said 2x and the boss legit was like thats huge i have a big guy and a large fits him im like well im built different lol but yeah kinda rude but i laughed im not gonna cry about it lol but hes having me do counter help
@@amirevans9085 aye bro, good luck, when i did my interview, they gave me the job right then and there. just a few days later i had orientation. i’ve been at canes for about 2 months and and this is the best job, they treat you right. lemme know if you get the job lol
@Yessenia Zepeda 3 weeks in and wow i learned alot, I was pessimistic in the beginning but I started to learn and how the work environment is. I’m doing good so far!
@Yessenia Zepeda Trust me you will do fine, it might feel difficult in the beginning but as you keep doing it it starts to become easier and easier. Good luck you got this.
@Yessenia Zepeda Wow that sucks, hopefully you can maintain the job, just remember that there’s always going to be people like that in life, use them as fuel and motivation to keep going and never give up. Good luck you got this, think positive.
@Jessinaa if you’re in a desperate need to work then keep pushing. Because if not, remember, you have other options out there . Fast food not the best for everyone. Other jobs out there 👍🏼. Good luck.
Probably too late but my shift lead just works front most of the time but he did learn to cook and if your GM is okay with it they can learn to cook too, he cooks whenever there isn’t someone to cover for one of our cooks or if it’s really busy and no one from the back can support one of our cooks
i know im pretty late but my orientation is wed (2 days) . when you start working even though your shadowing , is that when you start getting your hours to be payed? or it doesnt start til u actually start working working ?
Doubt anyone will see this but, I’m 17 working at panda as a kitchen help, started about 2 months ago and I love it, I gotta focus on speed rn but In just two months Im already getting looked at to become the next cook, im learning the wok rn, it’s such a fun job but those rushes get crazy Im still not equipped to handle it fully yet but I have proven myself, like the time when I had a Friday shift till closing and one of our BOH called out and it was just me and my trainer, and a morning shift cook stayed for an extra hour to help us out, and I kept us caught up all night, so I love the job it’s just a lot of work for a first job but I like the pay
Hey that’s an amazing story, And for your speed I Really recommend you to Do it fast when it’s slow So whenever the rush starts I’ll be EzPz, and I hope you become a Great Chef someday, #Panda_Strong 💪
@@richiegmzj6950 back a few months later, I’m the fastest Kitchen help at my location, basically working full time at this point, I can make chow main 4s and two pans worth of fried rice handled a 3 hour dinner rush on a Sunday, and I cover for breaks for the cooks. I have to learn to prep now before I can take my cooking test, FOH loves me and I’m still enjoying my time at panda I’ve made a lot of progress in such a short time but honestly I give all the credit to my crew they have supported me and helped me through my learning stages (especially when I covered for my first break)
@@S.4EP.9 here in Cali it’s 18 for kitchen help, 20 for cooks and Im not too sure about chefs since my location doesn’t have one rn (my boss is looking to promote someone soon) but I do know they make more than assistant managers
