I help singers break through vocal limitations to expand their vocal range beauty & power.
My clients have performed with companies such as Deutsche Oper, The Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Houston Grand Opera, and Salzburger Festspiele. They have been seen in National Tours including Phantom of the Opera and have been signed to record labels and music management. They have received many honors including advancements at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition, final selections for NBC's The Voice, and Vocal Scholarships for conservatories and universities.
As an opera singer, I have performed with companies in both the US and Europe. Major roles include Marietta (Die tote Stadt), Rosalinde, Violetta, Donna Elvira/Anna, Fiordiligi, and Suor Angelica. Competition wins include: The Jenny Lind Competition, The Marcella Kochanska Sembrich Competition, Kosciuszko Foundation Competition, New Jersey State Opera Competition, and CareerBridges Foundation.
Question for you! Do you have any videos doing opposite of this video? It appears I've been able to do the instructions of this video with ease, and I feel comfortable with my whistle register. I just recently enrolled in a voice program at school and I'm doing classical music. I'm having trouble accessing the same notes with my whistle register in my high head voice. I feel I'm able to go up to a Bb5 with my full head voice and after that I feel I just instantly flip into my whistle register instead of continuing my head voice. Do you have any videos for this or do you have tips for me?
This is a great exercise, it instantly helped me find a bright and very loud resonance but I can only use this for closed vowels like oos and ees how do I open up my vowels without losing that bright beautiful resonance?
Gracias. Grazie mile. Hvala. thank you. Fantastico. Salvatore Fisichella ,truly a great maestro. You are great too. Rado or Radoslav loves to sing from Dubrovnick, Croatia
Hi Julia. Greetings from Toronto! Thank you so much for the wonderful information you always share. Your videos on breathing have literally changed my singing life. Focusing on the expansion of the rib cage rather than pushing out with the abdomen was one of the major revelations for me. Also, I used to have a lot of problems with over pressurizing and you made the point that it is a common problem with singers who breath through their mouths. As I started to consciously breath through my nose more, my over pressurizing problems decreased. Lastly, your constant mentioning of the importance of posture has made a huge difference in my vocal technique. Alignment between neck, shoulders and head has really helped me a lot. Thank you maestra!!
Well, definitely no mask singing like Marilyn Horne used. Or many current singers. There must be full body connection, better head, and chest voice. Teaching methods changed maybe 50 years ago. Tetrazzini, Bruna Rasa, Muzio, Corelli, and Barbieri definitely sang differently than the way many are taught today.
Was the first tenor Richard Tucker? It would help to credit each singer before the selection. Especially for someone who may be new to opera and think Paul Potts and Andrea Bocelli are the cats meow 😂. Love Mariella Devia
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Have the positive changes endured? How long did you do the stretches to prevent reattachment? I'm considering getting this done, but I'm nervous about it growing back! 😅
It is quite difficult book especially for those people who doesn't speak Italian. I think I will finish the book in at least 1 year or more..😢 I am grateful for your videos that make our life a little bit easy. It was more easy to have the music score to follow you.
How do you practice the muscles that tense in your throat for whistle tones without damaging? I can do it but struggle onve i get to higher notes where at first i can kind of do it but then it starts to hurt when i keeo trying to practice and cant hit it anymore
You mention imploding the voice and not exploding it. How do I do that? I with forward placement, and my freedom is “outside.” I was told this is wrong. How do I make the change to sing more “in my body?”
You have the same problem everyone has with these tutorials - there is absolutely nothing linking the technique with success. Could you explain WHAT you are doing when go from “creaking door” to an actual note? No one even attempts to explain… just do it and leave anyone who can’t intuitively get the physicality right trailing off…
Hello Mam, I Visited your RU-vid channel and noticed it ranks lower than others. SEO is lacking, though your content is fantastic. Do you know why your videos aren't attracting more views? One key factor is insufficient SEO (your videos' SEO score is 0/100%, that's why your video is not reaching out to the people and you do not have many subscribers, views, likes, watch time, and comments. I can help you improve it 80-90% if you'd like. I think your RU-vid channel will make your dream come true. I am waiting for your response.
I had a wonderful falsetto all the way up to soprano F6 until I was 18 and D6 until I was 21. Now I have almost no falsetto. Maybe 3 or 4 notes middle C to Eflat or F directly above. I could use a lot of help. Hoping to find someone in Italy, Germany or Austria who can help. I'm a more mature singer. I'll leave it at that 😊
I lose my vibrato on my very high notes like above high C can you give any advice on that , I know that's because of tension but I don't know how to get rid of that
So helpful. Yeah, excited to get my voice back but definitely cracking if I try to sing (and I'm not a pro by any means) so this was so helpful! What do professionals do to not damage their vocal chords when they are pushing their voice?
Hello! I have been watching your videos about Marchesi Bel Canto exercises and just found this video. Does this breathing method work for any classical vocal techniques including Bel Canto? Thank you!
I'm working on navigating my top at the moment. It is both exhilerating and frustrating experiences of my life. haha Finding that ideal registration and support to maintain the ring is a beautiful challenge. My goal is to sing Ah! mes, and O Motu. I have the notes, just have the unlock them. Thank you for sharing this. I already hear improvement in my sound
Do you have a video explaining all the stuff about the larynx. I do not know what it means to have larynx tipping or clunking around. I have had singing lessons for 15 years but I never had it explained in this way
I finally watched this video after a year of trying on and off. For some reason I had this mental block that kept me stopping at like video 19, lol. I'm ready to go further and I've taken my first step today!
