Its a fascinating lecture. But i have one question.. he doesn't seem to mention the anti colonial movements in latin America and africa that the Soviets clearly supported. Was that part of the "deal" as well; i mean , i get it that it was a general structure in place maintaining a world order, but it was neither static nor did the opposition was only ideological. Neither side was passive and neither engaged only in ideology. There were pretty brutal actions too.

Instead of taking on corruption, campaign finance laws, inequality and healthcare rights her advisers with deep connections to advertise advised her to use identity politics issues as a way to confront Trumps obvious bigoted fake issues and the GD Wall. This was convenient as the identity issue approach doesn’t threaten her advertisers or her monied interests with threats of having to pay taxes or losing some of their privileges and power over their workers. All the left is in shambles without a clue of how to take on this behemoth of capitals power And their corrosive use of money to influence. It seems for now that only grass roots movements going door to door with handouts and informing the ppl directly on how they can unite with other citizens to stand up together against the overwhelming dictates and controlled of the capital class. Not armed revolt but real mass civil disobedience and resistance just like in the 60’s. Then the culture can awaken from their hypnotic trance and take this country back and make it work for everyone.

People think there is no right or left when it is two capitalists going at it - and there are no real colonial issues here- except if one sees Russia as trying to keep colonizing Ukraine. There has been no outcry about treatment of the Russian minority in the Ukraine. They see a bigger country attacking a smaller country. There has been a 20 year build up in the media to this. A lot of people on the "left" jumped on the bandwagon and don't see the war as a result of capitalism. I think they are social democrats in the most liberal interpretation. They never left the Democratic party. They accepted Bernie Sanders being fraudulently squeezed out of the DP nomination. They react to the Russia appearing undemocratic and the Ukraine proclaiming it is in favor of democracy.
The rich don't think of unemployment as that negative - the fuller the employment, the stronger the workers feel. That's why disrupting full employment can be a tactic - and think of some of the ways that is done - do not expect workers to applaud those tactics.

He finds these themes looking hard at the wordings of this or that phrase. He hopes for a further revival of the interest for Marx by forcing it into the new, fashionable mold ... Russia has an active Military that is less than 10% of the size of NATO..... To portray Russian Military Might as aggressive seems to overlook that image. The Propaganda since March 16 2021, seems tailored to embellish some distorted vision that Russia is capable of launching an attack on NATO Nations..... I have watched Eastern Europe from the Internet sources for several years since 1995, to acquaint myself with the Humans and how they are able to exist in their environment. I bought some Railroad Wheels that were manufactured in Ukraine and wanted some background about their purpose and projected possibilities.... I have Hauled some French manufactured Railroad Wheels into Canada as well, the folks of the Frozen Tundra North of Frostbite falls seem to understand public transportation better than the US does..... I have noticed that many miss the Soviet Union, for the services that were provided by that institution.....
