There is no way that I would try to start my 1973 380 just wearing sneakers. I always had my motocross boots on. It could kick back if you were not aggressive.
Nice video. In 1971, I had a Honda SL100 but a buddy of mine had a 90 twin. I remember he could launch that thing better than most and could beat bikes with much larger displacement.
This is nonsense, since in America at least the S-90 predates the S-65 !The S-65 engine was developed to try to save the tooling investment in the Sport 50 which never sold well in the US and is consequently very rare indeed. But the whole Dream style, and the fork technology were doomed by the superhawk, super 90, and CB-160. All of which existed concurrently with the dreams by 1963 and in the case of the S-90 1964. So the push rod 90 and the push rod 50 were replaced by the OHC 90 and later OHC 65. Any decent 2 stroke gave performance about equal to a 4 stroke of twice the size.. so 50 cc stroke =100 cc 4 stroke.. so where did that leave a push rod 50. In the annals of history . In south east asia they continued to make and sell the OHC 65 for a long time. None of this means the S-65 shouldn't be a lot of fun, if you like diminutive cycles.. and I do !
my first motorcycle as a 14 y/o kid. same color and everything. Man did we tare that thing apart. We rode it on dirt trails behind my house and would even go off jumps. Great memories, happy to have survived!

Havent heard that amazing noise since 1981, when I put mine into storage, but im nearly ready to start mine up, it had a bad ignition and was so difficult to start, listening to that motor has put a huge smile on my face! cant wait to get mine running now, Thanks Mark...
Yes the Griffon started in 1969. This MX6 is date stamped April '69. Story is the demand was high in the states and the MX6 was produced to fill the void whille the Griffons were built. Oh by the way Frank Conley (Greeves Guru) passed away last month. He will be missed!
short stroke with old challenger running gear ! v rare not many greeves fans knew they existed but buy 69 didnt they have the griffon buy then ? in USA
I don't know in what alternate universe this.. among all the classic Hondas is in any way Iconic ? If it happened to be your childhood wish, or first bike.. then sure it is important to you. How can a bike that sold poorly, and was so outclassed by it's 90cc big brother the S-90 be Iconic. Maybe you refer the the dream styling, pressed steel back bone, and link front suspension in general..which I would grant you for early 60's.
