After sitting on this build I like this the least and any benefit from trying to maintain blaze away stacks is completely lost from just having consistent and nonstop 80%+ peril vents with creeping flames and blaze away is very easily built back upto 5 stacks so letting it drop often is barely a detriment, the lack of emp resolve which is pretty much a staple in purge builds not because of consistency in small mob play but because it protects you from your biggest weakness in mid to large scale enemy play, ranged clip is a puzzler, not to mention i -REALLY- dislike anyone who takes Kinetic over Psykinetic's Aura + Seer's Pres, Kinetic can def be really good on high alpha weapons like voidstrike or surge but on purge it's a literal nothingburger. Empyric Resolve is also just a trap talent, I'm gonna say it now outside of quirky memebuilds like LMB scyer spam it's doing far more harm than good than just taking inner tranquility below it, the fact that it was considered a flaw that purge staff built peril too slowly before and resistance was it's easy dumpstat. wildfire is abit of a baffler too, spreading like a seconds worth of channeled damage is either, insanely overkill on trash mobs, or nigh useless on tankier mobs you're going to have to focus down anyway. nothing against you obviously you're clearly skilled and put the hours in and I've enjoyed some of the other stuff you've put out, I just think this one in particular outside of new blessings is best kept to basics talentwise
3 toughness regen on curios is a massive waste. It only works on coherency toughness regen, and after 2 stacks , the difference is miniscule. 1 is fine , 2 is questionable, 3 is just why.
if u dont use this empyric resolve and just use your ult on cd instead of sitting on it for minutes and actually speed forward to pave the way with ash you would double your dps :P ALso put 5% cc on your staff its best perk. Edit i just tested Empryic shock and it DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for the primary attack of the inferno staff, ONLY works on the others staffs primary attack.
1:40 Absolutely not. Toughness curios just increase overall Toughness, Toughness Regen Perks are what you're thinking of. Health perks are trash. Health requires a medpack, medstim or med terminal to regain health. Those are not always readily available. Toughness, however, has a ton of talents that actively regenerate it throughout battle. Pretty sure Empyric Resolve just applies to passive Toughness regen, not Toughness actively regenerated from talents.
@@Pygex You should probably do a follow up on this, I don't disagree but it's confusing the way its being presented, is it effecting each individual toughness gain talent or is it being applied once all the toughness calculations are done.
@beef0masta it does proc it but it is not consistent enough to be reliable compared to something like duelling sword light attack spam with shred or columnus / shredder / recon lasgun with true aim
@@Pygex interesting. I found that useful, even in this build. Since its a cc oriented build evasion helps you being more aggressive and take even more space
I don't understand the "do not stack toughness" argument. Yes I know the perk makes you regen it way slower but it's still more than the benefits of more health because "health regen" happens way less often. At least 2 or 3 times in first couple minutes of gameplay you lose hp because you don't have enough toughness. I would still aim for 100-120.
@Matroze1 same would happen with toughness as the -30% is very noticeable. However, with health you can afford to take a little chip. I usually run with toughness curios but with this talent you really want to run HP instead.
@@Pygex I think having more toughness to sure up that imposed weakness is better than sucking it up and just lowering the consequences. Taking any amount of frequent chip damage isn't sustainable. By taking less than normal max toughness, and having the reduction to toughness regen, you almost make it inevitable that you will take chip damage.
I find a low warp resist Deimos is very handy in this build for quick peril gain. I have a 10 warp resist which gives me just over 30 peril per special. It makes a big difference being able to 6 stack shriek when you want without the delays of getting that peril with purga or bb. It's also handy if you weapon swap cancel bbs (with bonus almost instant quells when chaining bb at 100 peril). Really enjoyed your guide though, most agreeable purga guide I've seen yet.
Yeah Deimos in general works well with the build, especially if you like to hold your ground against Mutants. I just love the movement speed of the knife even though the offensive capabilities of it are a lot weaker than a Deimos.
For Peril I use True Peril, make sure to have it at 1 or 2 decimals, the rounding for 0 decimals makes thresholds inconsistent and you can accidentally blow up. For dodge counter I use Numeric UI. I also use Custom HUD to place things where I want on the screen, I have moved the peril counter a bit closer to my crosshairs.
The other melee weapon that kind of works with this build is a Duelling Sword 4, you need to be able to stay mobile and deal with armour with your melee. A Dclaw can't really deal with crushers so you would allow a failure point in your build and have to rely on others to deal with armour.
@@Pygex Makes sense! Honestly I tried it with a few different weapons and ended up loving (maybe missing from the early days) the mobility of knife. I don't think the new (2 to 3s) Assail change will make too big of a difference but we'll see!
At lower difficulties (aka regular non-auric damnation) would it makes more sense to take Psychic Vampire over In Fire Reborn? I find with IFR, that I rarely have full warp charges for Shriek when I need to
Yes. Even at Auric Damnation it's a bit of a matter of preference. For specifically spamming smite, in fire reborn is what you want as it has the better chance to give you the warp charges up front right when you need it the most (to extend that smite). However, with fewer special and elites to kill it can make sense to take Psychic Vampire, especially since keeping that Smite up so long is not that important if there are fewer elites and specials present in the first place.
Saying not to use any staff until 30 feels like a bit of an exaggeration. Especially if you're only playing on Malice while leveling, the Voidstrike staff does fine at most gear levels.
The staves get negative bonuses with poor stats. Guns simply perform better but like I state, at 20 you can make the switch to Purgatus staff and even push straight into Damnation with it, assuming Psyker is not your first class.
Absolutely, I was well into level 30 and had to refer to discord or the subreddit to get the proper blessings to get Purgatus to actually kill things reliably. With Transfer Peril, even at level 2 a half-decent Voidstrike becomes an absolute killing machine, and without you just need to monitor peril like all the rest of them.
You get the crit chance to heavies, lights and the push attack but the push attack has the greatest DPS since for the knife it deals the same damage as a heavy attack. The added benefit is the constant staggering of enemies. Combine that with kinetic deflection and you can block safely with no stamina if you need it.
@@Pygex and with an ant, you would be dead with 3 maggies behind you, with the valk you fly, once you are at range for your goal, you jump, you shoot, and find a cover (or find a cover and shoot, or play stalker)
Mordhau, dunno why RU-vid auto listed it as Chiv but I fixed that now. It's a very nice game, a very rough and though learning curve but the memes and combat are just so fantastic (if you don't count the couple weapons that have totally broken animations).
