Thank you, the factory warranty is still in place 60k miles. The supercharger is warranties by Tuscany Motors but expired at 30k miles. The skid plate was covered by a plastic body molding which I removed, so yes the original skid plate is in place.
Sick upgrades. Did it have an original skid plate before the upgraded bumper? Also, you say it has a supercharger. Is that covered by ford warranty? thanks
I hope your at least using one of my brushes, I used to be friends with Aerosmith,,saw them on a nightly basis managing a huge nightclub in Revere Beach mass. In the early 70’s Steven actually asked my to do the album cover for “Toys” ,my response was that I didn’t have the time….
I hate doing things the hard way. In this case initiating a lawsuit. However it seems like the only way to get this issue resolved. Harley Dealers are denying the obvious, there is something wrong with the M8 to make it sound so bad. I was told to buy loud pipes to drown out the sound. That won't help me when something fails while driving and there's an accident.
Hey Guys I have the exact same whistle noise on my 2020 Breakout and two dealers said its normal. I think HD has been told to say that so they can avoid costly warranty repairs. Can anyone tell what EXACTLY was the issue? I need to go in with some info ammo!
Yeah, the harley engines are junk. Probably debris in the rocker box. It's a Problem harley has been ignoring. Best way to fix it is to take it to an Indian dealership an trade it in on a real bike.
I've lost all respect for Harley Davidson Dealers and the latest M8 pieces of crap... They used to have class now they are shit.. Shovels Forever Forever Shovels!
Agree on the shovel... I'm in the middle of a frame up rebuild for my 1973 ... Still ride the tri glide. The engine noise drives me crazy... Have to turn radio on sometime to drown out engine freaking racket ..
YES I 've had twin cams for years only small issues , I waited a couple of years for M8 to be broken in and I got a 2019 FLTR (TRIKE ) cause of Health issues and only a oil transfer issue so far 8400 kms and I ride hard !( Just Want to say to everyone after 2 weeks riding it, the Trike is the Best thing I ever Road and ever Bought )
The video was intended for the dealer and other owners potentially having the same issue could see it and hear the noise I was trying to explain to them. Every time I took it in they kept saying we can't duplicate the problem, however this very youtube video solved that problem. The plastic part was some type of guide.
You Yeah my bike is making a strange noise Dealership No theres no problem we checked it all out they all sound like that Told me the same song and dance after the 1st 400 miles the oil dipstick had no oil on it (it was sumping) oh your just checking it wrong after 2500 miles the transmission dipstick bone dry (transmission oil trasfering) the dealership oh your just checking it wrong just after my 2yr warranty was up BUT i had the 2yr ESP i asked about the primary vent kit fix was told they would not cover it if i wanted it installed it would have to come out of my pocket this was a 2017 M8 street glide with 7000 miles on it i traded that oil sumping transmission oil trasfering piece of shit for a twin cam cable clutch streetglide buyers beware The M8s are junk if they would have had an evo on the foor i probably would have brought it home
Sounds like the exact issue I was having. That's bullshit that they gave you the run around like that. Buddy of mine was having the same issue on his 2018 Road glide, selling dealer pulled the same shit with him and he ended up going to 2 other dealers before 1 of them diagnosed it correctly and covered the repair.
Hey. What about the whining noise. Is that normal to be that loud? I know all the m8 has some whine due to the balancers, but it seems some is whining more than others. Mine sounds exactly like yours and im wondering if its normal.
Turned out to be some plastic retainer that broke and was flopping around in the primary case. Also had bad piston rings, burning oil like crazy. Warranty took care of it.
@@rodjara8506 I was told that it is a common noise among these models and someone at the dealership told me it was the lifter. I didn't get a clear-cut answer. My friend who bought a 2020 Lowrider S also noticed it on his bike too, but no issues with the bike as of yet.
Turned out to be some plastic retainer that broke and was flopping around in the primary case. Also had bad piston rings, burning oil like crazy. Warranty took care of it.
My 2019 street bob makes the same noise. Some folks say it goes away after the break in period. I’m heading to the dealer today for a fundraiser. I’ll bring it up when I get there.
The tapping noise, and yes it was coming from the engine. Turned out to be some plastic retainer that broke and was flopping around in the primary case. Also had bad piston rings, burning oil like crazy. Warranty took care of it.
my 2018 roadglide makes the same noise in the shop for month they keep saying its normal also has very load too end rattle/tick, i had a 17 m8 it made no noise, there sending a engineer/corporate tech at the end of the month
That's what they did with me, 2 of my buddies 1 has a 2018 street glide the other 2018 road glide and they have the same issue. Street glide got a new engine under warranty already the road glide is being told it's normal. Also check your oil see if your loosing about a quart every 500 miles. Good luck, 30K bike and it's at the shop more then the road!
Harley Davidson ya im not taking the (its normal answer anylonger) i had them start 5 bikes in the show room floor and none of them did it ,still said its normal, currently going threw lemon law been a long process bikes been in the shop 4 times multiple issues, i am losing oil there excuse was that they must have under filled it doing the 1k miles service they have a excuse for everything.
Vou te responder em português, depois você traduz. Aconteceu a mesma coisa na minha Fat Boy 2018 e foi constatado que o barulho vinha de uma peça plástica que se soltou dentro da primária. Trocaram a peça e o barulho desapareceu. Boa sorte.
This is accurate and was one of the issues. Here is a translation of Claudius Cartaxo comment - I'll answer you in Portuguese, then you translate. It happened the same thing in my Fat Boy 2018 and it was verified that the noise came from a plastic piece that was released inside the primary. They exchanged the piece and the noise disappeared. Good luck.
I did several times, first time they fixed it they told me they had to replace some valve seals, and some plastic retainer located in the primary. A week after it was done and 200 miles of riding, the bike burnt up a quart of oil. Third time I took it in they had a engineer fly out from HD headquarters, turned out to be a design flaw in the piston rings, somehow causing excessive oil to fill into the primary. They ended up fitting the bike with a stage 4 upgrade which gave me new complete upper half of the engine. I haven't had any issues since then.
oh damn. Well mine is making a similar noise and the dealer I took it to said it was normal. In about 4 weeks I will do my 1k service and bring it up and ask for a solution thanks for the reply.
That's what they were trying to tell me, monitor your oil level see if it's low and let them know if it is. Also when you first start it up, let it warm up then try giving it a couple of short full revs and look at the pipes if you see a lot of smoke it may be burning oil like mine was.
Jason, the video was intended so the dealer and other owners potentially having the same issue could see it and hear the noise I was trying to explain to them. Every time I took it in they kept saying we can't duplicate the problem, however this very youtube video solved that problem. derp.
