1988 All-NBA 1st Team is the GOAT… -Magic in his prime (1987 was his peak) -Jordan already in his prime (winning his 1st MVP) -Bird in the last year of his prime (before his body gave up on him in the Playoffs) -Barkley entering his best years -Hakeem already a beast -the GOAT PG -the GOAT SG, and just the GOAT, period -top2 forward ever, and it’s either him or LeBron for best prime/peak at SF -one of the very best PF’s ever -one of the very best centers ever
I don't care what anyone says..Lebron never deserves 2nd place.. somewhere between 5-10.. The media and generation Z have incredibly exaggerated this man.
The meta of the game has changed so much, you can see in the 80s and 90s the game revolved around having a center with great scoring ability. Nowadays it’s more centered around guards.
old heads criticize present players and youg heads criticize past players. that's why you americans don't understand a shit about basketball. and you invented it
I tend to lean to years where it was PG SG SF PF C - I know it’s not always like that and especially today where it’s more positionless - but I do like when it’s like that. 1988 is obviously filthy. 1991, 1996 not really like that but pretty crazy. The starting 5 for the east all stars that year was Penny MJ Pip Grant Hill & Shaq 😂😂 disgusting. After Shaq the centre position struggles a little for a while but the 1-4 are crazy good. 2017 is underrated as hell. Some all timers and a few of them it’s clearly their best versions. Most years struggle somewhere like all time. Perhaps a guy was a freak but injuries cut them short like D Rose and T-Mac. All time maybe not as strong as some years - but the years they made it - they were absolutely top tier at that time. Yeah some amazing years when you look back
Bird has almost Always the second best stats in every of the three cathegories. Points After only the shootin guard, rebounds second only to the center, assist After only the play....
Shaq came into the league as a 20 year old in 1993. He averaged 27/12/3 on 59 percent from the field on the 90s. The problem was that young Shaq was literally competing with peak Hakeem and peak Robinson. People forget the best Robinson was before the injury. Shaq was only 27 entering the 2000 season which was his peak.
Bird is rated much too high here. He's the most overrated player in NBA history. Oscar had a season in which he averaged a triple double - Bird didn't even come close. Including George Mikan must be a joke. How about Marques Haynes? Harden above Worthy - get real!
Man this video made me realise how underated Malone is... dude was there 11 times. 1 more than freakin jordan. Also props to Hakeem, Barkley, J Kidd, Nash and cp3 for being on it more times than I expected. Obviously Kobe, jordan, shaq, magic, bird, lebron and Timmy dominated their eras as expected.
