did you see using ranged weapons annoying compared to the PC version? I am trying to develop a android game with kind of similar gameplay and I am thinking about how to implement the ranged combat mechanics
yeah its annoying compared to PC, but it wasn't hard to get used to. You can do the same mechanics with your game and modify it till you feel comfortable
The problem with mobile based ranged combat is that you're often working with just your two thumbs and being forced to always aim where you're moving is really awkward. Maybe borrow the "focus" mechanic from Hotline Miami? In there you get a button that locks your aim into an enemy. Maybe you can rework it so the lock on is less accurate and you can choose which enemy to lock on with your movement inputs. Also, you can make aiming with the movement inputs really accurate compared to the lock on, so there's a tradeoff between the ability to hit long range and the ability to strafe. You could even try implementing a sort of sniper with a laser sight and a ton of damage that you aim manually with the movement inputs, and as the aiming would override the movement, you'd be trading a big damage shot for your ability to move at all.

Hi I meant the buff when wearing a piece of the set, as u know you can combine sets amd buffs. The buff is that the sentinel will make a beeping sound and emit a yellow image when a gearbit is nearby
@@1RVQ47561 Year late, but Hyper Light Drifter is a game that is purposely vague, a game with no clear or definitive answers and not a single line of dialogue or text (outside of tutorials explaining controls and such.) That said I _can_ provide some context for this scene. The character you play as is simply known as "The Drifter." He is a genetically engineered creature, grown in a test tube and created to be a soldier. He suffers from a terminal illness, and the game follows his search for a cure, or perhaps for peace in death, in a world recovering from an apocalyptic war that he took part in. All of this can be inferred through images and environmental storytelling alone, and as such I may have misinterpreted some of it. Regarding this scene: throughout the game the drifter is shown to be struggling internally, presumably with his fear of death, and the scene here is likely yet another of his internal struggles, though perhaps Im misreading it.
