Activities • What does the mask represent? • What do the different colors of masks represent? • Why did they wear different masks in different situations? • What do you think is meant by "Today I found the truth" and at the end says, "The truth found me”? • Make connections to the key concept and the global concept. The Mask: The mask represents how people hide their true selves and conform to societal expectations. Everyone wears a mask, suggesting a lack of individuality and superficiality. Yellow = Beauty Red = Popularity Blue = Smart Black = Strange Gold = Cool Green = Geek or Nerd Purple = Unpopular Violet = Ugly white = Different or Unique Mask Colors: The different colors of the masks might symbolize different personalities or roles people play in life. It could be that the colors don't hold a specific meaning, but rather emphasize the variety of masks people wear. Changing Masks: People wearing different masks in different situations could represent how we adapt our personalities to fit in with various social settings. We might act differently at school, with friends, or with family. The Truth: "Today I found the truth” could represent the girl's realization that everyone, including herself, is hiding behind a mask. "The truth found me" at the end might signify that the girl's genuine expression is being noticed and individuality is being valued.
For those who didnt see description ...... This short film is a project made for the youth in schools. The storyline is based on how living in a world where everybody wears masks due to lack of self-identity, a brave girl encounters that sets her free from mask. + continuity......(in detail for school purpose) The main concept explains how one must not put on different masks of personalities everytime if one needs to fit in with different people and how those people have no right to label you with your personality. It point out that one must be proud of one's identity with no mask. Wearing a specific mask doesnot show one's real identity. This embarks a journey of self-discovery for protagonist ultimately finding the truth of herself from societal constraints. The mask serves as a metaphor for Conformity and the suppression of individuality.
The truth will hurt and break you down if you don't accept it (mask cracking and breaking). In her picture, the children have faces, but the two adults do not have faces, making me think that children have souls, personalities and are themselves, while adults follow social norms, or SELF- DRAWN STANDARDS.
The clarity in this piece is transformative. A book with akin material was a significant milestone in my life. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Leo Flint
I just found this film short today. .I immediately shared with my friends. What a very thought provoking film. Great visual interpretation of Platos work. My fav part is when the girl picks up the pawn and realization hits. Thank you for making this film .

We are actually love particles. Part of our spiritual nature is that we experience pure lasting love. Every living being needs to love purely and be loved unconditionally in order to feel complete. This is why we are always longing for real love. We are looking for someone to love and to be loved by. This is the most real experience. Love is what is at the core of everyone’s being. When we don’t experience this love within, then we think we have to gain it from outside. But actually, this pure spiritual love is eternally established in our hearts, in the core of our very being. It is not something that we need to gain from another source outside of ourselves. And it is by regular hearing and singing of this transcendental sound Gauranga that this pure spiritual love awakens.

So anyone who’s doing identity under ethnicity, culture etc. we can see how people group themselves and their identity. People in the same masks have similar identities and we change our identity depending on who we are with (we can see through the mask changing). Our life focuses on the identities we represent ourselves and the cultures or communities we are involved with. The masks symbolise how we label and identity ourselves which change between how we interact with friends, teachers parents or neighbours. People's identity fits with the people around us and links with our own beliefs, values and attributes. Garrett, 1998, believes identity is split between psychological and physical. Freuds identity theory is a interesting concept on the link between identity between our ID which is the needs for instant gratification and our reality principle which is how we adapt to our reality that is forever evolving and changing. Our ego or superego (Rennison, 2001) is our internalised voice that guides us beyond primary narcissism. This is usually societal expectations, parental guidance, or influence usually providing rules and regulations. Another link is multiple belongings which means us prior using an identity depending on our current situation. An example is our identity with our parents, friends, siblings, teacher, employees, co-workers, etc.
