Awe, l am from Scotland but when l was 21 l lived in Canada (cold there too) for 2 years then back to Glasgow for 6 months then moved to England to team up with my Sister. I have been in Nottm since l was 23 and still here. 🤣🤣. I'm looking to move again but in sunnier climates in Portugal. This is my plan. I love crocheting which l once did when l was about 19 but then never did much then but now we have YT l have re-established it about the same time you did. I hope you like the beautiful Isles in Scotland. Thanks for sharing your channel.😊❤
That is amazing - thank you for commenting and sharing! 🥰 I've still never been to Canada or Nottingham (both are on my list though!). Portugal would be amazing 🌞 I have been there and have a friend who has moved out there. I do miss that sun and surf but Scotland is such a beautiful country and I do love it here. ❤️ So happy to hear you've found crochet again too!! What kind of items do you like making? X
😂 Now I'm embarrassed! 🙈 I have no idea how 'Scheepjes' is meant to be pronounced but I do normally just say "Sheepies" 🐑 I did just Google translate it though and learned that it means 'ships' and it's pronounced very differently to what I've been saying! 😂 Whoops. How do you say it? And does the word mean 'ships' to you? And a H hook is 5mm. ❤️
@@cillacrochetsit means ships because I had NL lessons at school. You could pronounce it like the letters SKAP-yes. Ty for checking the word and the size. ❤😊
I mostly use solid colors sport weight, but only because it's hard to find variegated yarns of that weight. I like the look of the Stone Washed for bears and bunnies, and I know they have it in #2, so I might have to give it a go.
To be honest, I normally stick to solid colours too. However, I do think the variegated yarns look so pretty. If you do give them a go, I'd love to know how you find them 😊❤️
An easier way to make sure your amigurumi is on the correct side is always curl your piece so the tail of the magic ring is on the inside of it. If its the wrong side out, the tail will dangle outside your piece.
I disagree with the magic circle - the method I use of 3 chains in a circle, which I have used for 20+ years, has never failed me. I have never had to do extra sewing to close anything up.
It's just a matter of personal preference really. The 3 chain method is also great and I have used it before! I personally just prefer the magic loop. The extra sewing is also something that I choose to do. I know quite a few crocheters who use the magic loop and don't do any extra sewing. This is something I learned after seeing what happened to my first makes over a few years. 😊
Hi you make beautiful Amigurumis I have a question I can’t find this pattern from this character name Raiden Thunderous. You have it by any chance?? If you do vacan I buy from you. Thanks
Hi Susie, thank you so much for your lovely comment! 🥰 Unfortunately, I don't have a crochet pattern for this character. I recommend searching on Ravelry, Etsy or Ribblr and you may find some fan art patterns. I hope this helps! ❤️
Such a good question! My recommendation is to go for cheaper ergonomic hooks at the beginning, just to make sure you're interested and stick to crochet. While I wish everyone does, it's not always the case, so it's worth saving some pennies until you know you're going to stick with the craft for the long haul. Hope this helps! ❤
Thanks so much, Veronica! The eggys are so much fun to design and make 😍 As for scheepjes... I genuinely have no idea! 😂 It's my guess but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong haha xx
So interesting to hear the range of opinions on this! I was first taught 'magic circle' and have stuck with that ever since, but I know a lot of people use many different terms. So many! 😅😂❤
