I've done this loose (with the loops flapping in the wind) many times, but pinning them for floral foam will keep them from unraveling as I work... Great hack. I may remove the pin and then insert the needle, just because that what I'm used to and I'm afraid that I may split the yarn with the needle, if the loop is still pinned to the foam base. 💞🌞🌵😷

Hello, thanks so much for this really useful and clear video! One question - does this method stop the hole from getting bigger (by the stitches that go around the hole), or does it just cover it aesthetically? Thank you!
@slowstitchclub
@slowstitchclub Месяц назад
@@HelenFrancis-Graham you're welcome! Yes it does stop the hole growing - the tacking stitches create a barrier ☺️

On the long runners, did you take a crochet hook and re-knit them? I only ask because they don't appear to be mended in the pink or orange yarn? 💖🌞🌵😷

Это показан вид узора. Благодарю! А на трикотаже лучше не штопать, а отремонтировать по петлям цвет в цвет, так ничего не будет видно. Вещь будет как новая!

Great work! What’s the reasoning behind threading the needle backwards?
@slowstitchclub

Thanks! It makes it a lot easier to work over/under the warp threads and minimises the chance of snagging the fibres :)

Original St.Michael (now M&S) was great quality, I'm still wearing a flannel shirt i got for my dad 30yrs ago to this day, it's had a couple of minor repairs (elbows & buttons) but it's held up to the test of time and a LOT of wash+wear from me over last 20yrs that's for sure! Plus, it's a lovely memory piece for my Dad & I too 💚

Revitalising & repairing that gorgeous and no-doubt well made original wool & cashmere M&S scarf would be beyond worth it! I have visble cord elbow patches my nanny taught me to do on an old M&S shirt & mismatched replaced buttons that i love as it adds character! i actually chose this dark green, checked flannel shirt as my dad's xmas gift when i was 6/7 as i remember choosing with my ma, 30s later & i still get complimented on it, asked where i bought it & it's a treasured memory for my dad & I to share too (it's also a level of softness that can't be achieved newly bought either)! 💚😊

If you are trying to dye to cover a stain realize that it will still show, but will be less noticable. You can expect coverage to be similar to the pattern in the binding vs the background.
